Sad, the effects of war are a life long struggle, especially some say a needless war

Sigh. I know people are going to pile on to him.

I make the assumption he didn’t try to kill them, he had a disconnect. They were probably quietly sleeping, he was late for work or something.

He will suffer with the knowledge he has done this the rest of his days.

I've never been described as an "amazing" father....reasonably good, perhaps, but never amazing. However,I've never left a 7 month old child in a car to slow bake to death.

If this guy were to commit suicide (not just attempt...*succeed*) I'd probably develop a degree of respect for him...that suicide being an acknowledgment of how remorseful and ashamed he was.

Otherwise? Sorry,let him rot!

Is a “bouncy castle” the good birthday set up for 1 year olds? I don’t know.... I do not have children.

I really don’t see how this is possible. Of course it is a horrible story. But aren’t these kids dressed in pinks and blues and yellows against gray upholstery? You get out of the car you think there are a couple of sweaters that were just thrown in the back seat?

"Dad who left twins in hot car....described as an ‘amazing’ father...."

Amazing father….except for the "leaving infants in a hot car" part.

This is an invention that crosses my mind from time to time but I don't know how to go about making it come to fruition.

I'll throw it out to anybody who has the gumption to bring this about and I won't even sue for royalties when you do it.

You know how your car dings when you leave your headlights on after you turn the car off? Why can't we do the same thing with seat belts? The car dings if your seat belts are not fastened when you start the car, so there must be a way to make them ding when they remain fastened after you turn your engine off.

There you have it. Your path to billions if you're the inventive type.

As I said, I won't sue for royalties but if you are led to throw a little spiff my way, a couple hundred thousand would come in handy.

I have read a lot of suggestions - esp. if you are not the one who usually takes the kids to Day Care. Leave your cell phone on the back seat, take off one shoe and leave that in the back seat, put a diaper or baby blanket under or on something you always take out of the car (purse, laptop, glasses case) You can also use Waze, which has a loud child in car reminder when you reach your destination. It seems inconceivable that someone would just forget the kids were in the car, but it does happen.

I don’t want to put this on the day care but I think it’s a common practice to call the parents if the child is absent without notice.

Who doesn’t notice things in the backseat EVERY time they leave the car? I mean...really?

This is an excellent argument against tinted windows. The police said no one noticed the kids because the car had heavily tinted windows. I personally don’t like them because a certain segment of our population uses tinted windows as cover prior to and after they commit criminal acts. Police cannot discern what the driver is doing prior to walking up to cars with heavily tinted windows. These kids died from negligence and in part to tinted windows.

Sometimes a tragedy is just that, a tragedy. Was there any criminal intent? Will the State be able to punish him any more than he will punish himself?

If boiling your child to death in a car got perps a felony murder charge, we’d have a lot less forgetfulness.

Until then this is legalized infanticide.

“He forgot to drop them off at their day care Friday morning, Rodriguez has told cops”

And the “day care” did not have his work phone number, and call there to find out where were the kids? I am NOT blaming the day care outfit as much as just wondering if in fact (a) the day care outfit expected the kids (or not) and (b) never called the dad at his place of work that day, to inquire about the kids, not even once.

I pray for remaining kids, on how they manage this legacy in their family history. May G-d be with THEM.
