This is an horrific nightmare for all concerned. Unimaginable grief. In addition to the precious innocent lives lost, many others have been ruined forever. Let us pray for the souls of all.
“Mother is not off the hook in this case.”
Depends on the situation. Perhaps she was in Mexico visiting relatives, perhaps she’s not even alive?
My kids are grown so now I do grand parenting duties. If I go to the post office just to drop a few bills in the slot inside,I unbuckle my granddaughter and take her in with me. When at home if they go into the kitchen from the living room and 15 seconds go by I holler out “What are you doing in there?!”
I hear you.
No, it's that people who have never had children have ZERO understanding of what it is like to be a parent. This is a fact.
If it was an accident, then surely someone else was expecting the infants to be somewhere else that day, not in the father’s car, and that fact would have come to the father’s attention, with a phone call from someone, sometime after he got to work.
That makes me think the time the infants spent alone in the car was not an accident, but an idiotic, stupid and tragic mistake by the father.
We can surmise all sorts of possibilities about why the kids were in the car, and not somewhere else to begin with. None of them would make sense to me. I don’t grant parents the right to “forgetfulness” in just any case at all. Some cases demand and expect parents to be vigilant about them.
That’s being kind and not assuming greater evil intent on his part.
He needs to relieve his pain.
Not now not ever buying the, “forgot the child was in the car.” alibi.
Some people are too stupid, irresponsible, uncaring, ignorant to have children.
I thought all the modern conveniences were supposed to give us more time? Instead they are distracting and wasteful of time. They are like pacifiers that make us brain dead.
1-When we were having kiddo #1, we did serious financial planning. At ge 30 something a 1,000,000.00 life policy is affordable to anyone. Mom dies, nanny moves in
2- Mothers of one year olds let alone twins simply have no business going anywhere without them for mot than eight hours.
You can argue this based on current standards all you want all day Saturday. My argument is look at the current culture.
People love to make fun of millennials and Snowflakes
It is a generation of kids that had been dumped in daycare they know theyre just a daddys hangover away from getting abandoned all day in the car. And they dont know how to cope with life let alone gain a sense of love of country. They are not lived
One year old twins not so new. This is unthinkable.
Jealous dad, consciously or unconsciously, gets revenge.
Stop right there. Thats not an excuse. He is a father, not a robot. As a social worker, he may have been the one to throw the switch on other peoples parental rights, or similar life-altering decisions. Hope he gets fired and divorced, at the very least, quite aside from his legal woes.
Actually a robot probably wouldn’t of “forgotten” the kids.
Baloney. I have a prime piece of coastal real estate Id like to sell you for $500.
They will discover who hes involved with other than his wife and download all the pron and dating site profiles on his computers. This reminds me of that piece of scum out west who killed his pregnant wife and dumped his two toddlers into oil silos at his workplace, then lied his brains out on tv and to the police. But the neighbors property surveillance tapes told the tale.
The males on here willing to make excuses for an 8-HOUR lapse of parental responsibility by a SOCIAL WORKER is disgusting! Its like those male judges who sentence child rapists to a few months, with time off for time served.
Yeah, really?
Glad neither of you is a doctor, soldier, police officer, attorney, accountant, EMT, fireman...
That story is five years old. Susan Smith (cited on this thread) is a 25 year old story. Sure, some parents leave their kids in cars intentionally to murder them but I still maintain that the majority of these case are nothing more than sad accidents.
Yes, change in routine-maybe. Possible scenario: His wife always takes the kids to daycare but she couldn’t do it that day so he took them. They fell asleep in the car and were quiet and he forgot his duty. When he got to work he got out of the car as usual and went in to work and left them. He committed a crime, but it might not be murder. If you’re going to murder your children you’d think he could think of a way that would give him a better chance of getting away with it.
A normal human being does not leave their children in their car. Ever. Period. End of story.
I’ve been dog tired too many times to count, routines changed, blah, blah, blah. Had to change schedule, had to change routine, all that. I would die before forgetting my kids. But I am a normal human being. Not a self-centered a-hole.
