Members of the NAACP are calling for President Trump's impeachment, the latest effort to push members of Congress to pursue impeachment against the president.
The group is holding its annual convention in Detroit.
"Trump’s misconduct is unmistakable and has proven time and time again, that he is unfit to serve as the president of this country," NAACP President Derrick Johnson tweeted.
The NAACP joins a growing chorus of voices calling for Congress to initiate impeachment proceedings against Trump.
A total of 87 House members have expressed support for an impeachment inquiry, but Democratic leadership has been hesitant, instead asking the caucus to focus on investigations against the president.
The NAACP's vote comes a day before former special counsel Robert Mueller is set to testify before Congress, which some Democrats hope will help crystalize the case for impeachment or at least help hold Trump more accountable.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), one of the most outspoken critics of Trump who has called for his impeachment, said at the NAACP convention on Monday that she is “not going nowhere, not until I impeach this president.”
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who has so far resisted calls for pursuing impeachment, also spoke at the convention on Monday but did not mention Trump during her speech.
That’d just get Trump elected in a landslide and cost them MANY Congressional seats.
Hope Dems pursue impeachment.

President Trump pushed through prison sentencing reform, something that benefits mostly blacks. I didn’t see Obama pushing this through when HE was president.
Under President Trump, black unemployment is the lowest in American history.
Black business start-ups are the highest in American history.

The NAACP continues to lead many blacks into irrelevance and obscurity; they are no longer the preferred minority du jour. Blacks on the street know they’ve been dumped for Hispanics - and they resent it. They could’ve delivered key states to Hillary (PA, WI, MI) and they didn’t; I give credit where it is due.
Remember when Richard Pryor and Micheal Jackson started The Ignited Negro College Fund? The sloagan was “A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Baste.”
Of course! Trump is putting Blacks back to work! naacp can’t have that! They want Blacks poor and dependent, so the dems can lie to them, as they do every election, and get their votes and money, and then act to keep them poor and dependent.
I agree take away their tax exemption status - can you imagine a conservative organization surviving making statements like they have done and getting a free ride with a tax exemption — I can’t.
The NAACP needs a permanent underclass black population, in order to justify their existence.
