Izakaya Sushi Ran, the Castro's gastropub answer to the popular Sausalito restaurant Sushi Ran, has closed. Originally called Nomica when it opened in 2016, it changed names last fall and served izakaya-style small plates, mains, sushi rolls and cocktails.
A message on the restaurant's website says the following:
"Dear friends,
Ya'll, we made a mistake! While rocks r a common prt of anti-homeless architecture, this particular rock is NOT. It's a Japanese garden. Izakaya Sushi is a valued member of the commnity & is supportive of its homeless neighbors. We apologize & offer deep appreciation to the staff https://twitter.com/TheCoalitionSF/status/1141401379094724608

Liberals destroying each other.
Nothing bad can come of this!
Who believes it was a one-rock Zen rock garden on their doorstep? They should have called it a “spirit rock,” like schools have in front, and painted seasonal or personal-recognition messages on it.
They’re all dumb as rocks . . .
I’m guessing it was just a crappy restaurant.
?
My responsiveness yal’’ it’s all good, bi cribbing with de homies and saw yer massage, dope and peas out
Just what’s posted here I feel like I’m reading a foreign language.
I din’t know rocks could be gay.
Is there now a Geology and Mineralogy - LBGTQ Studies program anywhere yet?
While he’s at it why don’t he just roll in a pile of dung and wear sackcloth and ashes?
Because homeless people can't sleep comfortably on rocks. I guess they should be able to curl up on the restaurants front door step or he's being insensitive...
Liberalism just cracks me up, and just look at the massive destruction it's doing to society... Which isn't funny at all.
What did this even mean?
Something about a restaurant closing, rocks, and homeless....
Yes, rocks are inappropriate.
I like these better.
Yup. As a store-owner, do you want to hose the entrance by the door on a daily basis, or simply place a large boulder there. I vote for the boulder.
Just whats posted here I feel like Im reading a foreign language.
Ya , What ?
I would never eat at any restaurant in San Francisco’s Castro district—for obvious reasons.
“Ya’ll, we made a mistake! While rocks r a common prt of anti-homeless architecture...”
San Francisco problems.
Ok.. ok, I read the article. We’re good now.
The stupid burns.
