How do Democrats sell their policies when the economy is doing well and unemployment is at 50-year lows? By avoiding the subject. At least, that’s what Democrats did during the two nights of debating.
The very first question asked in the first debate, by Savannah Guthrie, was about whether the Democrats’ far-left agenda would risk the economic growth we’ve been enjoying.
“Seventy-one percent of Americans say the economy is doing well, including 60% of Democrats,” she said. “What do you say to those who worry this kind of significant change could be risky to the economy?”
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the first to answer, pretended not hear the question. Instead, she went on a rant about how the economy is “doing great for a thinner and thinner slice at the top.” But if that were true, why are six in ten of her fellow Democrats happy with the way things are going? No one bothered to ask her that.
A word cloud of the debates shows that “economy” barely got mentioned over the two nights. Democrats talked almost as much about guns as they did jobs.
And when Democrats did talk about the economy, it was in grim, Dickensian terms.
Cory Booker said, “I see every single day that this economy is not working for average Americans” and claimed that “dignity is being stripped from labor, and we have people that work full-time jobs and still can’t make a living wage.”

He said how a “trans woman” needs to be able to get an abortion.
A “trans woman” is a biological male who wants to be a female. It’s impossible for this gender confused biological male to get pregnant.
And what’s with Cory Booker saying we need to talk more about transgendered people?
Is the transgendered vote that significant a voting bloc that we need to pander to that group?
Regarding all this business about “income inequality” and economic issues, all of the alleged problems they complain about, were also occurring during the Obama years. What did their icon Obama do about these issues; why didn’t he confront income inequality and all the rest when he was president?
Wrong. They are not ignoring the economy. They plan to use it to buy more votes. Then they will destroy it.

They didn’t ignore the economy, they simply minimized the great economy by basically saying, yea the economy is great for 330 million, but we know someone somewhere is suffering so let’s focus on The Suffering. Yep it’s ridiculous, but they are ignoring reality at their own peril.
Kinda like thinking if the say they will take away Healthcare from 180 million people and provide free healthcare to the illegal rapists and drug smugglers coming over the border, that that will be a winner and resonate for them?!

The fund was a key aspect of the Paris agreement signed in 2015, which aims to keep global warming “well below” 2C and aspires to keep warming to 1.5C. Established in 2010, it is financed by wealthy countries and used to assist developing countries with adaptation and mitigation. It was widely seen as a key measure to bring both rich and poor countries to the negotiating table. The US committed to transferring $3bn to the fund. The new instalment leaves $2bn owing, with the incoming president, Donald Trump, expected to cease any further payments.
