Democrats and their cohorts in the mainstream media are upset over an interview President Donald Trump did with George Stephanopoulos. The reason? Because Trump said he wouldn't necessarily call the FBI if a country came to his campaign saying they had opposition research on his candidate. He also brought up the fact that oppo research is a common thing in politics and that every politician utilizes it to win elections.

Trump should call the FBI only if he has reason to believe that obtaining the information would have been illegal under our law. Nothing illegal about a foreigner giving him a photo of, say, Obama sneaking out of a place where psychedelic drugs are sold in a foreign country.

This is Trump doing two things at once:

1. Creating a cover to show he can be “friendly” with the MSM.
2. Going balls forward to taunt whiny liberals using their own vaunted anchors against them, without fear of any repercussion from doing so.

The latter is what drive liberals insane, forcing all non-insane family and friends to shun them, while turning more non-insane toward the “reasonableness” of Trump.

If the foreign sources walked across our southern border uninvited before providing information, would the dems then say there was no issue? Seems to me the dems are being (typically) hypocritical by recoiling in horror at the idea of “foreign interference” when the rest of the time they refuse to acknowledge the concept of foreigners even existing. We also know that dems are the ones who are actually promoting “foreign interference” by encouraging illegal hordes to flood into the country for the very purpose of eventually skewing our electoral results.

Hint: Trump is running for re-election. That's his (and by inference our) #1 priority.

However, forget about actually defeating Russia; at this point in time, the focus is on Napoleon surviving a strategic retreat of the Grande Armee.

What did Tyson say? Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face? A hallmark of winners is being able to adapt to setbacks. You try, and if it doesn't succeed, you analyze the factors and prepare a second attempt. IOW, you move on and don't dwell/grieve on what might have been.

Trump may not be *The Guy*, but he's still the best alternative. Besides, he buys patriots some time. The real *guy* will be younger, come from the military, be much more cunning (and will have learned from Trump's mistakes), and will already have a well established enforcement squad ready to rock 'n roll.

When or how that comes about might require a prog to win 2020, open the borders, and formally launch CW 2.0. Or, maybe it's still the long strangulation, with the crux not occurring until further generations.
