This week, The New York Times ran a massive piece detailing the supposed radicalization of one Caleb Cain.
Cain moved from political liberalism toward self-ascribed tradcon status from watching YouTube videos. The New York Times charted this nefarious move by following those videos.
The suggestion by the Times was simple: If you watch typical conservative content hosted by people like me, you will eventually end up watching material hosted by alt-right figures.
The only solution, presumably, would be for YouTube to downgrade material the Times dislikes.
This attitude isnt only springing from the Times. Axios chief technology correspondent Ina Fried grilled Google CEO Sundar Pichai over the weekend, essentially demanding that YouTube do something to marginalize videos Fried dislikes.
Vox ran a full-scale propaganda campaign last week to get conservative comedian Steven Crowder kicked off YouTube for the great sin of making offensive jokes about one of Voxs columnists.
Taking their cues from Democratic leaders like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, various media outlets have spent years suggesting that Facebooks unwillingness to censor political materials led to Hillary Clintons unjustifiable 2016 presidential defeat.
And its not just targeting big tech companies. The far-left organization Media Matters for America routinely leads boycott attempts against advertisers who deign to sponsor conservative programseven if those advertisers sponsor a wide variety of political programming.
Pseudojournalists from organizations like Vox and Huffington Post spend their days calling advertisers for comment on various controversial statements by right-wing hosts from Tucker Carlson to Laura Ingraham to Sean Hannity.
Their goal isnt to follow the news but to generate a wave of advertiser-pullout announcements likely to do damage to those conservative hosts.

PING!
They stand WITH the left.
And guys, each day lately is like watching 1930s Nazi Germany in action.
I have no clue what to do about it, but if someone does and has any kind of plan, I’m in.
A LOT of people and a LOT of guns CAN be taken if done incrementally.
Like our liberties have been taken away.
Like we would have ALL SWORN 20 years ago that we would fight to the death before monuments and flags were taken down or before boys would be allowed to dress with girls just because they say they are a girl.
Events move swiftly.
I don’t like what I’m seeing.
Just not smart enough to know what to do.
They are admitting their ideals are so weak that they can only compete with lies.
They ARE the Left!
Silly headline.
The people very most adept at debating have tired of debate.
What they want:
To rule unchallenged in perpetuity, to relegate elections to figleaf status, devoid of political impact.
Their vehicle to get there is their stranglehold on the entire US media apparatus.
The Schutzstaffel needed to stand up against the NAZI party...
They’re all for the censorship they carry out. The activists are a convenient scapegoat but they work hand in hand.
A few figures to ease your mind.
Approx. 120 million Americans own guns. They own approx. 400+ million firearms. It would require teams of 15-20 officers/agents per raid in order to go door to door seizing firearms. Each raid would take at least two hours not including paperwork after the fact.
With the current number of Federal, state and local cops who do arrests, if every one of them were put to work on gun raids, it would take a hundred years or more to confiscate them all.
Meanwhile, Americans are buying guns faster than they could confiscate them ...
Americans Buy Enough Guns in Last Two Months to Outfit the Entire Chinese and Indian Armies
That’s a lot of ####ig gund!!! :)
But how’s about setting up militia meeting points or meeting points in general NOW.
Hell, I’m just a lowly Staten Island guy and I’ve got two go to points just in case.
Granted, they are both from nearby states lol
And they wouldn't be able to do it quietly and on the down-low either ... eventually, the word's going to get out that this is happening and people will begin fighting back. Then there are going to be a whole lot less of them going out to do arrests ...
You'd better believe it, brother! And a trillion rounds of ammo to go with it.
But hows about setting up militia meeting points or meeting points in general NOW.
People tried that in the '90s. Clinton and the Dems, along with the MSM, demonized and harassed them nearly out of existence. Most militias now are staffed by FBI, DHS and ATF agents.
Someone will have to fight fire with fire, take social media head to head on its turf. That being said its easier said than done, starting a conservative social media outlet to take on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and the like would take millions of dollars, a crew of techs who share a conservative vision , a hoard of lawyers and a bunch of good luck.
They ARE the left.
Yes, I was positing how it would go if every raid met with cheery compliance. Given the numbers, they could barely make a dent before the scale of what they were doing became obvious. I doubt they could reach 10k raids before all heck broke loose. Not much out of 120 million.
Firearms are not our problem. Keeping things from getting to the point of needing to use them is the problem. The left seems to be dead set on destroying the rule of law.
Had to outdo me huh?!?!? :)
Unfortunately, OF COURSE they are the left.
They are the MONEY and the POWER.
The idiots in congress are just their pawns.
That is like asking Free Republic to stand against and repudiate Christianity and conservatism...
That is a poor alternative. What about the battleground of ideas and the marketplace of philosophies? Can’t we overcome them in the public discourse? And reverse or stem decades of neo-Marxist ideologies on campus? We need to find other ways to engage them...
