But you see Trump is a destructive war monger. Fortunately the restrained and reasonable Mexicans with whom we had an excellent relationship backed down and chose not to destroy a relationship that wise heads had spent decades building. /s/

Art of the deal anyone?

Trump wins? I hope so. But we have to see what kind of deal Trump negotiated before exclaiming he won.

Trump sucks, it took to long, he’s not serious, no enough, too late, Mexico is bluffing, Trump got conned, we should have voted for Boosh.

In before the usual comments from the political posers and the habitually defeated.

The best part of this is that PDJT can put the tariffs back in play if they don’t live up the agreement, and I think he will!

Ted Cruz once again chose to act stupidly. So did Mitch. And of course, so did Romney.

You wrote that “The Mexican Govt is owned by the cartels, so if they are to enforce the law at the border I dont trust them.” It appears the major effort will be given to halting the flow at Mexico’s border with Guatemala. The cartels will still control the border with the USA.

Yep, and even Trump himself is against tariffs in principle. He’s said out loud that the ideal is a pure free market with no tariffs. But of course in the real world tariffs make sense in the same way that government makes sense because men aren’t angels. We shouldn’t play the chump with nations like Mexico and China who would gladly use our free market idealism to bleed us out. I am fully in favor of Trump fighting fire with fire with tariffs.

I wouldn’t get too excited. There’s some detail in this article:

What appears to be missing is Mexico agreeing to declare themselves a “safe country.”

Ted Cruz: “‘Not a single Republican senator is behind you on tariffs on Mexico, Mr. Trump! Texas business with Mexico is $100 billion a year.’

Effin’ Chamber of Commerce stooge and hater of America!

I don't believe anything substantial will happen. I liked the way President Trump entered discussion, "first actions, then we'll talk." President Trump should have waited to see what the Mexicans would really do.

I don't trust anything that the Mexicans promise. They will abide by the agreement for a couple weeks and then it will be back to business as usual.

Rush Limbaugh, today, said that Mexican law enforcement had arrested the leaders of caravans coming through southern Mexico and were breaking up the caravans.

Media said zip about it...

#50: What appears to be missing is Mexico agreeing to declare themselves a “safe country.”

That should be the deal breaker. That is the whole key to killing the asylum scam. If President Trump didn't get this, then he was played.

What did Reagan say? Trust but verify!!!

Maybe but I could have sworn it was "Trust but put snipers at the border" yeah I'm certain I don't even need to verify it with google - trust me.

They will have more than 36 hours to work out a way to spin this as a negative for Trump before the Sunday morning programs.
