What kind of rats are they talking about? The animal type or the ones they elected, that caused the increase in the rodent population?

Not really. God is patiently wait for them to remember Him. If nothing else people turn to Him at the last possible minute. He is ALWAYS there, doesn’t mean they get off Scot free, but He will always welcome the wayward home.

Notwithstanding their stated goals, no such benefits will be constructed for the armies of illegal aliens being invited into the state; they’ll just find space in the sidewalk obama/garcetti villes alongside the other democrat voters. The aliens will be exploited for their votes, and after the election, they’ll be tossed aside and replaced with new ones in time for the next election. Look for the LA streets to become the new California normal.

While I admire their aspirations, it must be noted the road to hell is paved in gold.

Take New York City for example. Now that a Dem is in control, there are so many more pordioseros (like pathetic homeless) than before. It’s really sad. Breaks my heart that a city would allow this without helping these people.

Say good-bye to the tourism industry. WTF would want to visit NYC now? (w=who in this case)

My second field engineer assignment in 1973 was at the Carlsbad generating station. I stayed at a small motel across the road from the beach. My first assignment was in Monterey at the Naval Post Graduate School.

It was a rough introduction to California for this then-22 year old, I tell you!

When they say they want to “take care” of everyone what they really mean is with somebody ELSE’S money - i.e. “the government”. Then they will do absolutely nothing themselves. It’s a cheap way to convince others you're such a great person with no effort involved"

They mean somebody ELSE’S money - i.e. “the government” but they also, in spite of their loud support for high taxing democrat/marxist politicians, do everything they can to get out of paying their own taxes, so the real goal is for the "little people" to pay for the troubles of the little people.

They want to keep engorging their own fortunes by any means, while driving by in their Limousines, looking down on their inferiors, demanding that they live with less and less, and must pay more and more, "for the common good".

Hypocrites.

The most important aspect of Giuliani’s law enforcement strategy was that collaring the guy who jumped a turnstyle or peed in public often led to solving other crimes THE SAME PEOPLE HAD COMMITTTED. Guys grabbed for “quality of life” violations would turn out to have murder, rape, etc. warrants out for their arrests - and he was removing them from the streets quickly by focusing on the little things.

I see no point in paying beat cops who don’t enforce all laws; the excuse that “they have murders to deal with” doesn’t cut it - detectives do that stuff.

If you get a chance to see “Seattle is Dying”, it describes many of the same problems - in an area that was probably nice much more recently. Many of the perps are white, laws aren’t enforced, and the normals who own homes there have nothing but regrets (not young nouveau riche techies, but middle-aged and older normals).

This story is not surprising. What is surprising is that it comes from the LA Times

I had that same reaction, when I discovered the documentary Is Seattle Dying.

I couldn't believe that someone at the ABC local station put together this documentary, which was very hard hitting. Perhaps this journalist in L.A. felt the same way; someone needs to start ringing the alarm before the city ends up destroying itself.

After the Seattle doc aired, the Mayor of Seattle was not happy; however, they have began putting together teams of people to go out and clear out some of these homeless encampments.
