Wake me up when Biden actually goes head to head against Trump in an actual presidential campaign which includes debates, assuming he even wins the Democratic nomination. Then we’ll do a poll.

Biden just needs Clinton’s states and one of the four blue states that Trump won last time. Will be a tough election.

Trump declared in 6/2015. Quinnipiac did its first poll covering Trump in 7/2015:

https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2264
Matchups among all American voters show:

Clinton thumps Trump 48 - 36 percent. She gets 41 percent to Bush’s 42 percent and gets 44 percent to Walker’s 43 percent.
Biden tops Trump 49 - 37 percent. He gets 43 percent to Bush’s 42 percent and ties Walker 43 - 43 percent.
Sanders beats Trump 45 - 37 percent. Bush edges Sanders 44 - 39 percent and Walker slips past Sanders 42 - 37 percent.

Trump has the worst favorability rating of any Republican or Democrat, a negative 27 - 59 percent among all voters, with Clinton getting a negative 40 - 51 percent score, her worst ever. Ratings for other leading contenders are:

43 - 41 percent for Bush, his best score ever;
36 - 27 percent for Walker, also his best ever;
49 - 39 percent for Biden, his best score in seven years;
32 - 25 percent for Sanders, his best score ever.

Naming the most important quality in deciding their presidential vote, 37 percent want a candidate who is honest and trustworthy, while 33 percent want someone who cares about their needs and problems and 26 percent want some with strong leadership qualities.

Trump and Clinton have the worst scores among top candidates on honesty and caring:

Trump is not honest and trustworthy, voters say 58 - 33 percent, and he doesn’t care about their needs and problems, voters say 63 - 31 percent.
Clinton is not honest and trustworthy, voters say 57 - 37 percent, and doesn’t care about their needs and problems, voters say 52 - 45 percent.
