FULL TITLE: Alabama passes near-total abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest: 25 to 6 vote becomes most restrictive anti-abortion measure passed since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973
Alabama lawmakers passed a bill on Tuesday banning nearly all abortions, including those in rape and incest cases.
The 25 to six vote makes it the most restrictive anti-abortion measure passed since the landmark Roe v. Wade case in 1973, which ruled that depriving women of the right to an abortion except to save the mother's life was unconstitutional.
Under the Alabama bill, the only exceptions are to safeguard the health of the mother, while doctors could face 10 years in prison for attempting an abortion and 99 years for actually carrying out the procedure.

I believe that a person who suffers a rape, a real rape, not date rape, etc., should have the right to terminate a pregnancy that might occur - provided this is done within a short period of time. In such circumstances I think the victim’s rights are paramount.
You cant force anyone to give birth. That’s like claiming I forced you to breathe.
God forbid we should murder babies for their father’s alleged crimes.
We are not God, ruling over all evil, but we can certainly enforce His commandment against murder to the best of our ability. That’s why he gave us law and government.
It is time for our society to stop allowing women to murder babies.

Under 15 age group accounts for less than .3% of all abortions. Rape as a reason for abortion accounts for less than .5% of all abortions.
Florida keeps more detailed stats. Incest as a reason accounts for less than .001% of all abortions in Florida.

I’m AGAINST abortion, even in THIS case.
I’m just saying, I give a bunch of time to a couple of hispanic kids in the Bronx and we all should do what we can.
If we want them born, then we gotta help them along the way.

Anecdotal evidence cuts both ways, which is why principles must be argued from a philosophical stance to begin with.
It’s not about whether we feel moral, or what will ultimately come of the person’s life (for not everyone has an equal starting place, but neither are they intrinsically defined by where they start out, nor by what kind of parents they have).
The question is simple: is the killing of an innocent child right or wrong?
The answer to that question is what will inform everything else you believe or advocate on the subject of abortion.
It’s that same old liberal crap that right-wingers absorb along with mother’s milk: conservatives don’t care about “born babies.” But how many Christian churches help out the poor and indigent? Where I live every single one provides either breakfast, lunch or dinner during the week and always on a Sunday for the poor and indigent. There are clothes drives every month and no doubt there is free babysitting/childcare for young, poor mothers. Stop buying into false narratives.

It’s heartbreaking reading some of these responses justifying abortion. For a supposedly conservative group, far too many of you have been sucked into the vortex of the liberal mindset and their brainwashing tactics.
People, stand up and think. How can you honestly believe that adding the killing of an infant life will ever erase the horrors of a rape?
Read up on stories of women in that situation, those who kept their babies, adopted them out or aborted them. You’ll find that the real stories don’t match up to the imaginations the liberal crowd has shoved down your throats.
Stop allowing them to set the agenda, especially your agenda.

The human heart is weak and we can find all kinds of ways to try to justify things that are wrong. But the murder of 60 million innocent babies cannot be justified. People need to bite the bullet and say “Abortion is wrong. We need to end it. We will deal with the consequences.” To take any other stance is to give up on morality.
Longterm, that would have the effect of having more women choosing life, not being bullied by "friends" into killing their pre-separation infant. I do have a suspicion that a lot of the most rabid "pro-choice" maniacs are that way because they're trying to justify having had abortions.
