Sen. Lindsey Graham’s comments Monday that Donald Trump Jr., should “plead the Fifth” during a testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee have sparked a social media campaign calling for the South Carolina Republican’s resignation.
The hashtag “LindseyGrahamResign” trended on Twitter Tuesday after Graham told reporters Trump Jr.’s lawyer would “have to be an idiot” to permit the president’s eldest son to testify, adding that Trump Jr. should “just show up and plead the Fifth and it’s over with.”
“This whole thing is nuts,” said Graham, who serves as the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman. “To me, it’s over.”
On Sunday, Graham said in a Fox News interview that Trump Jr. should ignore the subpoena altogether.
“If I were Donald Trump Jr.’s lawyer, I would tell him, ‘You don’t need to go back into this environment anymore,’” said Graham. “Nothing being alleged here changes the outcome of the Mueller investigation. I would call it a day.”

Everyone has the right not to testify if they are the target of the investigation. It’s in the Constitution.
If the question has already been asked and answered in previous testimony, Don Jr and his lawyer should spend time going thru the transcripts then say, refer to page whatever.

The one sole problem with taking the fifth so to speak is it can be used during a grand jury process to infer guilt. Taking the fifth cannot be grounds for a conviction in trial but it can be used in a GJ presentation. Best advice would be don’t show up, make them go for an enforcement.
I think the issue here is that the subpoena came from the Republican-Lead Senate Judiciary Committee run by that worthless piece of skin by the name of Richard Burr, a RINO POS! Graham has been very vocal about this saying that Burr is a quisling.

Graham is right and I have been saying the same thing for a while now. After 30+ hrs of testimony this has gone on long enough. At best this is politically motivated harassment. At worst it’s a perjury trap. Take the 5th and let them stew.
One more thing, tell that S..t head Burr that any bill coming forward with his name on it will be vetoed. Time to play hard ball with these creeps.

This is too funny. We are entering the fifth amendment era with the Barr, and Senate investigation of the investigators. There won’t be a damned one of them that will not at one point or another take the fifth.

Burr ought to be given some sort of ultimatum by McConnell and Graham to either relinquish his chairmanship or at least stop deferring control to Mark Warner.

“Senators, I have already given testimony before Congress. I have given testimony before the Special Counsel. Hours of answering questions before prosecutors who were turning over every possible rock looking for ANYTHING to charge my father, me, anyone who could be targeted for prosecution.
The special counsel found no wrongdoing on my part.
Now, you want to bring me up here to question me about testimony I have given that conflicts with that given by Michael Cohen. I would remind you that Michael Cohen has pled guilty to various crimes, has violated the attorney/client privilege, and generally proven himself to be dishonest and deceitful.
