It's true that Joe Biden did his best to help Anita Hill, including concealing witnesses who would have been a disaster under examination. But even he admitted to his colleague that Hill was lying.
Former vice president Joe Biden repeatedly said on The View on Friday that he believed Anita Hill from the moment he heard her tale of sexual harassment by Clarence Thomas. But he previously told Sen. Arlen Specter that it was clear her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee included lies.
Not only didnt I vote for Clarence Thomas, I believed her from the beginning. I was against Clarence Thomas, I did everything in my power to defeat Clarence Thomas and he won by the smallest margin anyone ever won going on the Supreme Court, Biden told The Views Joy Behar.
But in 1998, Biden admitted to Specter that It was clear to me from the way she was answering the questions, [Hill] was lying about a key part of her testimony. The exchange was published in Specters 2000 memoir, Passion for Truth: From Finding JFKs Single Bullet to Questioning Anita Hill to Impeaching Clinton.
The issue is important, as the media and other partisans rewrite the historical record about Hill and her accusations. The widely watched hearings revealed inaccuracies in Hills various versions of events and ended with 58 percent of Americans believing Thomas and only 24 percent believing Hill. There was no gap between the sexes in the results. In the intervening years, activists have relentlessly attempted to change the narrative, writing fan fiction about Hill, bestowing honors on her, and asserting that her disputed allegations were credible.

Wrong again, Slow Joe. The Senate ultimately confirmed Thomas by a vote of 5248. The Senate confirmed Bret Kavanaugh by a vote of 5048.
Stanley Matthews was confirmed 24-23.
OMG.. is that REAL??? WHO grabs another little baby like that???? geesh .he is INSANE!
Politicians pander.. say what fits their audience.. from one extreme to another..it’s called lying..
And strong individual speaks honestly.
Can’t stand a liar.. they don’t know what they believe.
The SOB Lied about his first wife and daughter’s death in an auto accident. Tried to blame it on a drunken truck driver. Fact was no drinking involved and his wife F’d up at a stop sign.
Anita Hill was the Christine Blow me Ford of the Thomas hearings. Filthy democrat tactic for years.
She was.
FACT: alcohol was not involved in any way which was proven by field sobriety tests and a blood test. Biden paid a ton of money for trying to ruin a mans life and curry favor with Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
Biden is despicable
Former vice president Joe Biden repeatedly said on The View on Friday that he believed Anita Hill from the moment he heard her tale of sexual harassment by Clarence Thomas. But he previously told Sen. Arlen Specter that it was clear her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee included lies. So, Joe. Were you lying then or are you lying now?
After reading that paragraph, how can we believe anything you say or have ever said?
Senator Biden was the first questioner. Instead of the softball questions hed promised to ask, he threw a beanball straight at my head, quoting from a speech Id given four years earlier at the Pacific Legal Foundation and challenging me to defend what Id said. I find attractive the arguments of scholars such as Stephen Macedo, who defend an activist Supreme Court that would strike down laws restricting property rights. That caught me off guard, and I had no recollection of making so atypical a statement, which shook me up even more. Now, it would seem to me what you were talking about, Senator Biden went on to say, is you find it attractive the fact that they are activists and they would like to strike down existing laws that impact on restricting the use of property rights, because you know, that is what they write about.pp 235-236 of "My Grandfather's Son" by Clarence ThomasSince I didnt remember making the statement in the first place, I didnt know how to respond to it. All I could say in reply was that it has been some time since I have read Professor Macedo But I dont believe that in my writings I have indicated that we should have an activist Supreme Court. It was, I knew, a weak answer. Fortunately, though, the young lawyers who had helped prepare me for the hearing had loaded all of my speeches into a computer and at the first break in the proceedings they looked this one up. The senator, they found, had wrenched my words out of context. I looked at the text and saw that the passage hed read out loud had been immediately followed by two other sentences: But the libertarian argument overlooks the place of the Supreme Court in a scheme of separation of powers. One does not strengthen self-government and the rule of law by having the non-democratic branch of the government make policy. The point Id been making was the opposite of the one that Senator Biden claimed I had made.
