Tidal Wave of Millennials Join Fight to Drain the Swamp (COS)
Convention of States ^ | April 9th 2019 | Convention of States

Posted on 04/13/2019 12:14:20 PM PDT by Jacquerie

The next generation of conservative leaders have been watching and waiting for a cause where they can make a tangible difference and be a part of history in the making. For years, they felt hopeless.

But today, the scene looks very different.

Ben Shapiro has teamed up with Convention of States to funnel his millions of young listeners into the fight to call a Convention of States.

In a matter of weeks, tens of thousands of young activists have flooded into the movement, taking on leadership positions, and being trained to take back their power from Washington, D.C.

These are their stories.

Shelby M., San Antonio, Texas, State Content Writer
“When Ben Shapiro mentioned the Convention of States on his podcast, that was all I needed to dive in and investigate. I had spent years feeling powerless and frustrated with the growing size and corruption of the federal government, but with COS, I suddenly saw the opportunity to DO something! Instead of just complaining, I could be a part of a team that was working toward a solution. It was so empowering!”

That response just reeks of lack of knowledge of the entire process, rules, history, and commitment of the Framers of the Constitution to add Article V of which ALL of them approved.

That statement is fear mongering and has no evidence whatever, because there is none.

== Convention rules ========================
Article V itself limits the convention to amendments ONLY.

The COS application limits amendment proposals to three areas ONLY.
COS Application>http://bit.ly/cosapplic
The 3-part Convention of States Platform
1. Impose fiscal restraints on the federal government
2. Limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.
3. Limit the terms of office for its officials

All the states have rules for the legislatures. They KNOW there are rules and they follow them.
Most use Mason’s Rules, a few use Roberts Rules of Order.
The first principle of parliamentary law states if a body exceeds it’s authority the act is “ineffective.”

There are proposals for even stiffer rules.

Some states have, and more will as we get closer to a convention, pass “Faithful Delegate” rules, including delegate selection rules.
Indiana was the first and here those are. They include heavy penalties for the errant delegates and negation of anything they do outside their commission:

Faithful Delegate Laws (All states with general Article V Delegate laws)

And that is only the convention proposal stage.
Ratification is by 3/4, and that is stiffer yet. That requires the approval of 38 states.

You said, among other things: “Just have your hand ready to receive an envelope when the Koch Brothers walk by.”

I don’t believe that. Show me the money trail, the receipts.

Instead the facts are that the left is against COS and therefore also Ben Shapiro

The Federal government IS following the current Constitution as changed by court decisions etc for over 200 years.
We need a COS and amendments to turn that back to at least closer to the original intent of the Framers.

COS tells you that because unlike you, they have researched the topic and are fully informed.

Well then, we can rest assured that your assessment is not an informed one.
I know that because an Article V convention to Amend is NOT a Constitutional Convention.
And having gotten that wrong, you need not continue.

An Article V convention is NOT a Constitutional Convention.

“The Federal government IS following the current Constitution as changed by court decisions etc for over 200 years.”

I understand your meaning but I believe in and campaign for PRECISION in language. Court decisions do not actually CHANGE the constitution. They merely change PERCEPTION. AMENDMENTS are the only things that actually change the constitution and there is no point in passing amendments so long as we have judges who think that the constitution is a “living, breathing document.”

A conservative used to be a liberal that got mugged. A whole generation got mugged by China and their paid lackeys in the Democrat party and media.
