The youth of America don’t want to serve in the military any more.
The situation has become so dire that just to maintain America’s ground forces – the army and Marine Corps – the two services are resorting to unprecedented pay raises, bonuses and socialist trappings.
And things are going to get worse. This year, for the first time ever, Americans born after 11 September 2001 will be able to enlist in the armed forces. It’s a sobering reminder both of how long we’ve been at war but also how distant those very wars have become from America’s youth. And yet official military polling shows that fewer and fewer young Americans consider the military as a career or as a transitional step – only some 12.5% – the lowest number in a decade.

Even in 1956 I went in the Navy to get ‘away’ from the above.
Yes, they were there but mostly ‘under the table’ as an openly queer person would get rehabbed in the USMC Brig and we had a way of dealing with those with ‘roaming hands’, many a ‘shipmate’ falling UP a ladder on the way to a ‘rough’ shower or blanket party prior Captains Mast where they would be swiftly removed - a lot of times for their own safety.
My Grandsons ‘came of age’ during the BO days and while I didn’t/wouldn’t encourage them, I didn’t discourage them when they took an interest.
Today it is hard to push someone into a controlled scene where the gays and trannies now hold positions of authority and there is no way to get ‘away from them’ without taking chances on ruining your own future.
Also, ‘we’ are now prosecuting military types for doing their duty while allowing the perverts to roam freely—the complete opposite of 50 or so years ago.
Private sector jobs are plentiful and wages are good, giving the military competition for quality people.
