Theres a lot we dont know about the legacy Donald Trump will leave behind. And it is, of course, hugely important what happens in the 2020 election. But one thing seems sure: Even if hes a one-term president, Trump will have caused, directly or indirectly, the premature deaths of a large number of Americans.
Some of those deaths will come at the hands of right-wing, white nationalist extremists, who are a rapidly growing threat, partly because they feel empowered by a president who calls them very fine people.
Some will come from failures of governance, like the inadequate response to Hurricane Maria, which surely contributed to the high death toll in Puerto Rico. (Reminder: Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens.)
Some will come from the administrations continuing efforts to sabotage Obamacare, which have failed to kill health reform but have stalled the decline in the number of uninsured, meaning that many people still arent getting the health care they need. Of course, if Trump gets his way and eliminates Obamacare altogether, things on this front will get much, much worse.

I’ve had to quit taking my blood pressure med. I’ve been following a keto diet for maybe a week... and my un-medicated BP dropped from its habitual 140’s over 85 to 127/76. It’s probably even lower because the systolic reading on this cuff runs nearly 10 pts higher than what the doctor’s office gets. Sure surprised me. Maybe it’s a coincidence.
I go to Rite Aid for BP on occasion. Take it several times until you settle down. Log it.
I have a healthy diet....no soda, chips, occasional sweets. I felt I needed more protein. I upped mine and hair got thicker, nails did better.
I eat meat, eggs, milk almost every day....just not a lot of it. Salad every day.
PRAVDA couldn’t have written a better lie.
I’ve taken my BP once or twice a day for five years or so. Helps me keep an eye on a kidney syndrome and make sure that it is staying dormant. My BP has run on the high side all of that time. My diet for years has leaned towards plant based, no processed foods, low salt as a consequence of the kidney issue.
Anyway the intention for doing the keto program is to see if I can shed 10 lbs and an inch or so from my waistline. It’s too soon to know if that will happen, but it does seem as if I’m getting a dramatic and surprising improvement in my blood pressure. Of course I don’t yet know if that is just coincidence.
The keto diet isn’t all that much different from the way that I’ve already been eating, other than that there are more fats and more animal based proteins. The hardest part is avoiding all sugars and simple carbs that convert to sugars. If you don’t do that, then the keto regime will backfire on you. It will take some practice before it becomes habit.
What makes you think they didn’t tell Pablo what to say?
Paul Krugman: really? Really?
How about counting up all the deaths in the Middle East as a result of the Obama/Kerry/Clinton warmongering?
Theyv’e been wallowing in the crap for so long they have $#!+ for brains now - only capable of repeating already debunked lies to ‘prove” Trump is a Baaaaad Boy....
I think he is menace to America.
