Rand Paul blocks resolution calling for release of Mueller report

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) blocked a resolution calling for special counsel Robert Mueller's report on the Russia probe be made public, marking the fifth time Republicans have blocked the House-passed measure.

Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, asked for unanimous consent on Thursday to pass the resolution, which cleared the House in a 420-0 vote earlier this year.

"What we're talking about is basic transparency, let's make sure the full Mueller report is released to Congress … and then let's make sure the American people see as much of this report as possible," Warner said from the Senate floor.

He added that to warn future campaigns and candidates about potential election interference "we need to fully understand what the Russians were trying to do."

Under Senate rules, any one senator can request that any bill or resolution be passed. But because it requires the signoff of every senator, any one senator can also block their request.

Paul objected because Warner wouldn't agree to amend the nonbinding House-passed resolution to include provisions calling for the public release of communications between several Obama-era officials including former President Obama, former FBI Director James Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan.

Warner is actively aiding and abetting the criminals who started this whole farce which makes him an accessory after the fact. He should be criminally charged for it.

Good. It’s Barr’s job to determine what will and what won’t be released.

Rush called this one. The Dems want the report released, unredacted, so they can see who went before the grand jury. Then, the despicable, slimy, traitorous Democrat scum can leak names to the media for persecution.

You know damn well he was told exactly what to do on this. He’s a follower....not a leader.

Dems know the likelihood of the full transcript release is slim.

Even if a full, unredacted transcript is released the Dems would claim that the delay was because Trump/Barr altered the report or something. They would also charge that Republicans broke the law in doing so.

He is far from being a “follower”.

Who told him to do this? Please tell me.

which cleared the House in a 420-0 vote earlier this year.

Because of all of those spiney Republicans in the house trying to figure out which rock to slither under this time.

When you clean fish you sometime accumulate the guts and waste in a slop bucket. The full Mueller Report is that slop bucket of what did not become criminal charges. It was assembled by the 19 Democrats that Mueller had on his staff.

It is always humorous when Democrats speak about transparency. They know how to say the word but have no concept of what it means. To Warner and other scum Dems, transparency only applies to Republican administrations and Republicans, not to Democrats.

Actually Rand Paul seems like one of the most independent minded Senators in the body. We all know where he comes from, in terms of his father’s philosophy, but even there he’s his own man and doesn’t mimic many of his dad’s beliefs.

I really like the guy. I was a fan of his at the start of the 2016 race, but having said that, Trump was just a much more compelling candidate to me once I saw them in action.

I do think Rand is still sometimes put his libertarian-leaning principles above common sense, but that’s not the worst of what goes on in the Senate and House by a long shot.

I have a growing suspicion that the grand jury witnesses included one or more people who were actually Trump moles in the FBI/CIA while this surveillance was going on.

It seems on the stands no collusion Dave March 22, 2019 we have come over the hill so to speak and are on the downslope the Democrats are now clearly desperate they know that there’s no they are there they know that they committed multiple Felonise and probably sedition all of it’s on tape and therefore now they’re just ratcheting up an even scrambling harder to try to go on offense which is the only thing they know how to do to try to cover for the fact that numerous people are probably going to be investigated and/or a dated if you read what Nunez put out today so I think that they can continue to try to scream up-and-down like big Babies and say release the whole report and you can I’ll just fall apart and deaf years because the gig is up and I believe that they know it

Same here... But he kind of goofed his performance in that first debate. It showed a bit of arrogant immaturity and exposed that he wasn’t quite ready yet.

ANYTHING I hear against Trump is automatically considered lies from the pit. That side has nothing but hate, destruction, and lust for absolute power at any cost.
