James Carafano: The border is a hot mess. What’s Trump to do? Here are his options
Fox News.com ^ | April 3, 2019 | James Kay Carafano

Put yourself in the president’s shoes. He saw the border crisis building. He warned Congress. They did nothing. Now he has to do something.

Months ago, the administration alerted lawmakers that the number of people entering the country illegally and making unqualified asylum claims was skyrocketing. The only options were to stop them from crossing or let them in and release them while their bogus claims were being processed. The latter option, Congress was warned, could add another one million to the illegal population before the year was out.

It was, by any reasonable definition, a crisis.

The White House asked for resources to address it, but Congress didn’t deliver. This led to a government shutdown. Still, lawmakers refused to negotiate, insisting there was no crisis.

That assertion is no longer tenable. This week, even Obama’s former secretary of homeland security, Jeh Johnson, acknowledged “it’s a crisis.”

Leaders on both sides of the aisle should be in the Oval Office, working into the night until they hammer out a solution. That is not happening. Instead, the House leadership is considering a vote to criticize the administration.

With Congress whistling past the graveyard, what is the president to do? He must look for ways to address the overwhelming challenge with the tools at his disposal. He is already trying to build the wall, despite congressional obstructionism. But what else is possible, and how effective would those measures be?

If we keep re-electing Bush League Republicans, we will lose our country.

For 2020, the ones up are, Flimsey Grahamnesty, Thom Tillis, Gardner, McSally, Daines, Collins, Cornyn, Capito, Enzi, Rounds, Sasse, Hyde-Smith, McConnell.
They all should have primary challengers.

They are all Bush League Republicans.

The only ones worthy of re-election are Inhofe, Sullivan, Cotton, Perdue, Risch, Ernst and Cassidy.

Bush League Republicans are Democrats in R jerseys.
They want to give the Democrats a PERMANENT majority with amnesty for illegal aliens.

They need to be replaced with real Republicans that side with the citizens and the rule of law.

Letting millions of illegals in is going to blow up our economy, our social structures, and our safety.

We need to close the border, send armed troops to the border, enact Self Deportation policies (no welfare, no benefits, no kidding), and treat this hostile invasion of America for what it is.

Agree 100%

President Trump doesn't just have to deal with the hordes of illegal invaders overwhelming our ability to control the border.

Or the 30 to 50 million illegals already here.

He has to cope with liberal judges and the democrats and republicans in congress who want open borders.

The same people who made sure their laws and court orders made it easy for illegals to enter and stay here, and make it difficult to stop them and deport them.

Congress refuses to give president Trump the laws and tools to do his job.

By now it should be clear to all that most of them place their own interests and wealth accumulation far in front of their oaths of office and responsibility to the constitution and legal voters.

They could easily change the laws and give the president the resources he needs to protect our borders.

The fact that they don't and won't shows which side they are on.

IT'S NOT JUST THE DEMOCRATS!

Remember - Republicans had majorities in the house and the senate for 2017 and 2018 and didn't back the president either.

“The destruction of European Civilization - by its own leaders - is one of the most extraordinary acts in all of Human History.”
-Hungarian Prime Minister, May 2018

A Bitter Truth. “.. massive flows of refugees. It is true, whether we like it or not, that the West cannot possibly absorb even a small fraction of these refugees and survive. A stable and peaceful society is a fragile thing.”

It’s late in the game but I suggest we go after the money behind these hack politicians. Each one has their nose in the pig trough and it deserves to be smacked.

The way I see it, Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatamela have all OFFICIALLY DECLARED WAR with this INVASION on the United States and we should respond in kind.

The majority of the elite in office want our nation to be overrun.

They have stolen our nation to enrich and empower themselves.

They should be executed for this betrayal. It is treason.

Something jaw dropping stupid from your link:
According to historian Francisco Balderrama, the U.S. deported over 1 million Mexican nationals, 60 percent of whom were U.S. citizens of Mexican descent, during the 1930s.

The Left is hysterical about not having avacados for awhile? They would rather have chaos on the border, deadly diseases, freeloaders getting $75,000 a year, drug epidemics, sex trafficking, criminals (who murder, rape, and rob) and terrorists coming into our country so they don’t have to sacrifice going without an avacado.

Maybe I’m missing something. Most are requesting asylum at border crossing points. Most drugs are being seized at those same crossing points. By closing them, doesn’t that squeeze the asylum requesters and the illegal entry of drugs to points of the border with less chance to seize or apprehend the people or the drugs?

A nation that cannot maintain and secure its borders is not a nation. Ronald Reagan.
Others have said the same thing going back thru the ages ... its a historical truism not to be ignored.
A nation in order to maintain its sovereignty must secure its borders.

Threatening to close the border and then doing nothing hurts Trump, us and the whole country. Either do or stop talking about it Mr President.
