McConnell to Trump: We're not repealing and replacing Obamacare
The Hill ^ | 4/2/2019 | Alexander Bolton

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told President Trump in a conversation Monday that the Senate will not be moving comprehensive health care legislation before the 2020 election, despite the president asking Senate Republicans to do that in a meeting last week.

There is no “next”. Without the House there is little legislation to be passed over the next two years we care about.

My point is the Republicans will always have an excuse.

Exactly. I don’t see why so many are screaming about McConnell today when we don’t have a prayer of getting repeal through the house. McConnell is at least getting judgeships done. The time for healthcare was when we had Ryan as speaker. *shrug*. Crying about it now is a waste of time and energy imo.

It’s a waste of time with the House in the hands of Pelosi. Focus on immigration.

So why was this the GOP rallying cry for oh, six years? This was their largest rationale for giving them money and electing them through the 2016 election cycle. Now, they don’t even try. How quickly they switched to “it will never happen and voters don’t want it.” Its things like this that will make the GOP become extinct. Zero principles. At least the Dems fight for their crazy, America-hating, destructive policies.

After the 2020 Election Turtle will probably be the Senate Minority Leader, so it’s never happening.

repeal NOW.
replace, never...the fed govt has NO business whatsoever messing with your personal or family health care , or taxing us all to pay for it.

This bears repeating, over and over 'till the bastards get it.
Let the free market lose and buying health insurance will be as easy (and as cheap) as buying auto insurance.

Didn’t the now Governor Bevin challenge Mitch in 2014? Does Bevin have any plans to challenge in 2020?

Exactly. Tut-tut Turtle has as secure a lock on his district as Maxine “Largemouth Ass” Waters has on hers. I just paid the IRS $3,000 for my failure to purchase health insurance in 2018.

Killing HusseinCare was the #1, #2, and #3 reason many voted for DJT in 2016. McConnell and the other worthless RINOs made sure it didn’t happen when the GOP controlled Congress.

Spit.

I don’t believe that. Mitch McConnell sees his legacy in President Trump’s judicial picks. He wants to keep this legacy growing.

It’s all political theater at this point. The window for repealing Obamacare closed when the useless Paul Ryan handed Nancy Pelosi the Speaker’s gavel 30 seconds after the polls closed on Election Day.

You don’t seem to understand the GOP donor class loves socialized medicine. THAT is why McConnell has no interest in visiting the issue.

And McConnell has been approving “Trump” judges at a glacial pace. Of course it remains to be seen how reliable these judges are. I would not count your chickens there just yet.

Why doesn’t McConnell just switch parties and make it official.

I’m so tired of this dead wood looser.

Understand. But this time it’s basic math. Trump is savvy and knows the ObamaCare battle is lost for now. Trump was unable to cut a deal in the Senate when he had the House.

Right now — whatever he does — he must ensure he gets reelected and hopefully helps turn the House.

When McConnell defiantly said that to Trump was he sticking his tongue out? Metaphorically or actually.

He should be reminded of what happened to the lead character in The Mummy’s Hand 1940 with Lon Chaney,Jr.) “They cut out his tongue so the ears of the gods would not be assailed by his blasphemies.” Note: one film buff said it came from a scene in Karloff 1932 version but not sure.

Anyway, don’t stick your tongue out at Trump, McConnell. It ain’t healthy.

No confusion on my part. There are about a two dozen Rs who are worth their salt, with the remainder being totally useless. Once DJT leaves the political scene, the Republican party will go away. And they earned their fate.
