The inaction shows just how marginalized they are; nobody takes them seriously, and this policy really just confirms what people deduce when they see blacks having their own TV networks, awards shows, etc. - they are outside the American mainstream (regardless of which forces dictate what that is at any particular moment).
Obama’s election as a ridiculously unqualified president, complete with years of teleprompter reading (you know the authors were white), and recently Juicy Smollett’s “get out of jail free” card, demonstrate that there are no longer any expectations of blacks in this country; we should be thrilled that they just get dressed each day. We do them no favors with these bare-minimum expectations.
Is this even legal?
Savannah Alderman Van Johnson, who is one of three African-Americans who have stated their intention to run for mayor, said afterwards that during the meeting he had talked about his vision for an inclusive and progressive Savannah. With regards to the discriminatory policy at the door, Johnson said he believed people have the right to assemble and determine the rules of their assembly. Its not my meeting, Johnson said.
Any willing to attend a segregated event of ANY kind is not fit for office.
Either take away that church’s profit status or allow houses of worship to endorse candidates.
