I am old enough to remember well the first McDonald’s. Most people today bitching about how much they are being paid are not aware of how profits are calculated.

The business must have various kinds of insurance.
Those insurance companies are stetting the standard .....
There are many places whee you cannot smoke any longer.
Hospitals—medical clinics—certain kinds of packaging-—restaurants-—

The dramatic rise of drugs is everywhere. Half the parents in the USA don’t know their kids are on something. Half of those parents are using something themselves.
Drinking is legal but drinking at work or being high from drinking, and then showing up for work ... is not allowed. That’s how. Safety comes first, and a clear head is necessary.

I believe in New Jersey, if you have a school bus Driver CDL, you can never blow anything higher then a 0, if you do, you are legally drunk and will get a DUI and loss of license (and job). This applies even on a Friday night on your own time. Cop pulls you over, or you go through a check point, anything higher then a 0, you are done.
I believe the law also applies to all CDL drivers in general as well.
The huge difference is if you wait a few hours, that Jack Daniels or Bud Light won't show up in a screening. Same with Cocaine, Heroin, Meth, etc. With pot, you're looking at up to 30-90 days for it to clear. It's not a fair process, and if a state is legal and the employee or candidate is doing it on their own time, an oversensitive test shouldn't disqualify them.
Within a month after they move in call the Fire Marshall for the yearly walk thru inspection.
3 weeks later have the county appraiser come over for a walk thru current $$ value of the property for accurate tax assessment.
2 weeks later I am sure the zoning enforcement officer will need to stop buy to check on your toilet flow restrictors......
I heard the Denver regional bus system did a drug screen and had to fire a lot of drivers. Now the routes are screwed up because they don’t have enough drivers.

Some people understand a lot more about drug use than they do workplace safety and related laws.
I really don’t want to work in a place where people that aren’t 100% are even less so but are still driving heavy equipment that can kill in a heartbeat. I don’t think the insurance companies would want much of that either.
You see, maybe not, all these little freedoms do do as you want end at the nose of the person who is free do do them. When freedoms of choice begin to interfere and endanger the lives of mine and me they have to be contained.
Smoke all the pot you want, drink all you want but keep all the effects of that at home and don’t expect me to pay for your not being wanted in the workplace.
