**SNIP**

• Some of the parents who are accused of cheating to get their children into elite schools are facing civil lawsuits in addition to federal criminal charges.

• Meanwhile, there is talk in Congress of new laws aimed at cracking down, and the Department of Education is also reviewing the case.

• Some of the defendants are already feeling the effects of the scandal. Actress Lori Loughlin and her daughter have lost work. Two members of the board of a top Newport Beach prep school stepped down, as has a top investment banker.

• Several of the colleges involved have launched their own probes.

Schools better begin to fess up right now. The longer they wait, the worse it'll be.

Maybe this is a way to crack the ceiling and bring down the liberal progressive propaganda machines with heavy law suits like sandman and CNN etc

Time to smack down the ‘laws are for little people’ leftists who think they are the better human than those without massive financial resources.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Will they keep digging for other such schemes?

This all started when SCOTUS codified reverse discrimination in the 1970's. Now everything related to admissions is subject to corruption and esoteric requirements.

Regents of the University of California v. Bakke, 438 U.S. 265 (1978),[1] was a landmark decision by the Supreme Court of the United States. It upheld affirmative action, allowing race to be one of several factors in college admission policy. However, the court ruled that specific racial quotas, such as the 16 out of 100 seats set aside for minority students by the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, were impermissible.

Before we have universal guaranteed health care, I’d like to see universal guaranteed legal care. /s

Seriously, the days of “all the justice you can afford” need to be over.

If this all goes deep enough and retro enough, maybe John McCain’s legacy appointment to Annapolis will be rescinded. People have bought privileges for years; this current scandal is just a different version of nothing new under the sun.

The oddest thing is that Loughlin paid for DAUGHTERS; they are still “preferred victims” and should have had no problem getting in. A friend got his daughter into Penn State (main campus) as a “Hispanic” even though she’s white as a sheet; she understood the game when early on she was asked to mentor some young black girls also admitted as tokens. She did a poor job at it, since unlike them she wasn’t confused by big words and such...

Any school involved in the bribery-for-admission schemes should receive NO federal grant money from now on.

This is a comparison example. Juxtapose now the affirmative action cause.

What do we have?

In the latter case a bunch of people getting something for free,

Here we have few people getting something for something.

Here too we have the aspects of a private transaction. I’m not bothered, I am bothered by biased one way gifting with tax money.

If there are any whistleblowers with copies/downloads of any damaging admissions-related comms, it’s gonna get worse anyway.

Could not agree more...... a good time for Donald to step in, Some of these elite schools are nonprofits, meaning they don’t pay taxes on profits their invested endowments might make — which saves them a lot of money. One report noted that between the 2011 and 2015 fiscal years, the Ivy Leagues received a $9.6 billion tax break on the $27.3 billion growth of their collective endowments invested in public equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, real estate and natural resources.

At the same time, the schools receive money from the government for a number of purposes, which supposedly finance “cutting-edge research,“ and millions in federal grants for other projects. Between 2010 and 2015, the eight Ivies received $23.89 billion in federal grants and $10.6 billion of which came from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the National Institutes of Health.

Other sources of federal education grants: the National Science Foundation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Defense and the Department of Energy.

One report noted $10 million in federal tax dollars went towards sex-related research, ranging from “Injury in Latina Women: Variability in Anal, Genital & Oral Injury in Women – Consensual Sex” to “ Skin Elasticity and Skin Color: Understanding Health Disparity in Sexual Assault.”

Federal tax dollars also fund work-study programs and Pell Grants.

Schools better begin to fess up right now. The longer they wait, the worse it'll be.

Once they start peeling back the onion layers, there's going to be countless thousands upon thousands of parents that are going to get smoked out over this.

While the media is focused on the white, wealthy parents who staged this farce, no one is talking about how colleges and universities have admitted (and graduated) illiterates, simply because of their race or athletic ability.

Famous illiterates at that.

White women are held in contempt, as much as white men.

friend of mine had a white daughter that she thought was a shoo-in for med school.

Kid rejected twice.

Lesser kids accepted. Better kids accepted

The competition pool for white females has gotten tough.

It ain’t 1977 anymore.

Time to determine the scope and dimension of the collusion among parents, school figures, middlemen, and the rest.

Cheating and bribery are the major criminal elements, but the fake charities, financial reporting, and fraudulent tax deductions are the core of the case.

And like a lot of crimes------Al Capone comes to mind, jailed for tax evasion, not his actual crimes-----
it's what they did before and after the commission of the crime that should be examined.

<><> did they falsify official documents?
<><> how did they handle the money exchange on their income tax returns?

<><> how did the bribees handle the exchange of money?
<><> did the latter falsify documents, as well?
