Senior staffers in New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s office will be making $80,000 compared to the median pay for chiefs of staff on Capitol Hill at $154,634.

AOC is a hired gun. And so far, she is doing exactly as she is told...and doing it well.
She has the maximum number of staffers that can be budgeted for, 18. If she had only hired 15 she could have given everyone at least a $10,000/year pay raise (3 x $52K). I’m guessing a socialist representative of the proletariat needs Dog Walker #1, Dog Walker #2, etc. but nevertheless 18 staffers seems like a lot.

I’m sure that since she’s going to pay basically half the going wage the top talent will be climbing walls to go to work for her. ‘Course her public relations folks already proving how well that’s working out for her. She should be able to get top billing on the comedy circuit.

There was another thread on this. And that article mentioned that some of her staffers may have to take a pay cut.
In other words, she may be cutting pay for some staffers in order to give raises to other staffers.
She’s taking the budget given to her for her staff and redistributing it.

Her top staffers will get no show second jobs for leftist organizations to supplement their pay.
It’s not any money that SHE earned, so she doesn’t give a $hit.
If she believed in real financial equality, she’d reduce her salary to match that of her aides.
That’s a bit more than $15 per hour. Isn’t that unfair to the unpaid interns? If she really want’s fairness, everyone on her staff, should get a flat $15 per hour (AKA a “living wage”). Oh yeah, she’s a socialist.
