My son was in a Civil War reinactment unit while in college and a few years afterwards. He had uniforms for both sides (north and south) and his unit would portray which ever side an event needed. They were not playing a part to support a side or cause, they were just interested in history and an historical period. He researched his ancestors on both sides of the family who fought for opposite sides and wrote a book about them. And he is proud of all of them.

I am so sick of these perpetually offended pearl clutchers. They have absolutely nothing to do. They have no problems to solve. They constantly look for offense. It’s time to stop apologizing to them. I’m done tiptoeing around, hoping I don’t offend some fragile SJW. If we all stopped apologizing, maybe they find something else to do.

For a short time after secession happened, every thing got back to normal.
The one exception was that the Union government lost its ability to collect tariffs.
The only man with the power to conduct war said in his inaugural speech that war would not happen if the South paid up.
War came.

Every KA did this. My brother has photos just like it. They were professionally done. They had nothing to do with racism. Someone needs to tell these people to FO and then stand firm. The idea was the traditional values of ladies and gentlemen. Truly customs lost to generation snowflake.

Apparently someone at USA Today has been combing through yearbooks (900 so far) and finding these things. Apparently someone at USA Today has been combing through Republican yearbooks (900 so far) and finding these things.
Fixed it for ya...

Lee needs to man up. I’m sick and tired of our feckless Tennessee politicians. I even hate driving to the airport on Lamar Alexander Parkway! Corker. Now Lee is wussing out?

Did anyone bother looking at the actual photo of his "uniform"? That this was considered a Confederate uniform is laughable. BTW, he was 17 at the time at a Frat party at the University of Auburn. I'm not great at posting photos, but here's the link with photos:

KA's did the same thing at FSU when I was there. I had a date to the big party one year. Its pretty harmless and folks we do live in the South. 😄

It wouldnt do any good to say that there were slave states in the Union, or that the war was about preserving the Union, not slavery. Why inject historical facts and reality into the conversation? What's wrong with you?

This will demonstrate the absolute absurdity of this "apology":
Note how Booker T. Washington referred to post war race relations among the Southern peoples in the generation after the Confederacy!
Booker T. Washington Address
Why is the Governor willing to buy into a lying narrative; one which actively promotes hatred between the races? (Because that is what is in play!) Why?!
