Gotta band it to the old witch.. she’s tough as nails. I bet she outlasts Trump’s first term.

Someone 86 years old with cancer? On top of the medications, emotional issues etc, is calling shots and making this level of decisions in the highest court in the land?

This individual has no GD business doing this.

She’s missed two weeks of oral arguments.

Not nearly as important as some folks would like to believe. Justice Thomas is on record saying that they could do away with 'oral arguments' completely and lose little, if anything of value. This is one reason he so rarely participates in them. As far as he's concerned, all the meat is in the briefs, and the orals are nothing but theater.

On the other hand, I do think it would be valid to ask if any drugs she might be on could affect/cloud her judgement. My late wife had cancer, and went through two rounds of chemotherapy. She often complained about 'chemo fog', which was when the drugs she was on would make her very forgetful and easily confused.

If RBG died in 2020, the GOP promised not to confirm a scotus judge in a presidential election year. That’s not in the constitution, but the explanation why McConnell didn’t hold a vote on the Obama nominee Garland. I don’t think they mentioned the circumstances of Scalia’s death.

She's 85, and has said as long as she can approach her job with full steam, she's not going anywhere

I'd hardly call these pictures "full steam". Oh, and like everybody, she is going somewhere.

Look up ‘supreme court mental decrepitude’ or ‘supreme court senility’. By historical standards RBG doesn’t rate an inquiry.

Can we now stop the childish “she’s dead” conspiracy crud, please?

Nah...the “children” are incorrigible and having too much fun. I saw the video and she looked pretty spry and healthy.

Dude, the ONLY thing your picture comparison shows is that the woman is frugal and doesn’t constantly buy new clothes.

In the video of her at the airport she’s asked about what she thinks of the CURRENT RBG movie. You’re trying much too hard to find something that is not there.

Dude, I pulled that comparison pic from twitter for discussion. Read my note above the pic, as I noted that it wasn’t a match, IMO.

Lets just say most of us felt the proof was in the pudding, and if she wasn’t already dead she was one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel; and we most certainly would not put it PAST the opposition to pretend she was alive when that was not the case. Not necessarily that they would try to pull it off indefinitely, but certainly to drop as a bomb on a day politically favorable to them. You can keep a body at 14 degrees for a long long time.

IV in this end, catheter in the other. A photo of her wheeling her bag cart around in black robes will not be reassuring. And they have to keep defib paddles handy, along with monitors. The things they’ll endure to keep infanticide legal.

She’s missed two weeks of oral arguments.

In 1949, Justice William Douglas missed 6 months after a fall from a horse. Chief Justice Rehnquist was out for 5 months for cancer treatment in 2004-2005.

https://reason.com/archives/2005/07/01/supreme-court-senility

...William O. Douglas closed out his time on the bench by dozing during arguments, addressing people by the wrong names, and speaking in non sequiturs; after his resignation, he continued to show up for work, apparently convinced that he was still on the Court.

Joseph McKenna was so incompetent at the end of his term that, in the words of his colleague William Howard Taft, he once “wrote an opinion deciding the case one way when there had been a unanimous vote the other, including his own.”...
