That was almost accomplished in the early 1950s, headed by some US senators and the head of the NYC Bar Association.
Then the SC made highly charged political decisions and wrecked the bipartisan agreement that would have been necessary.

The “RGB is dead” propagators were wrong. They spread a pile of crazed conspiracy horse sh*t, and made our side look like a bunch of conspiracy-crazed loons. You should be embarrassed for them.

Childish response to a serious problem on FR. Our side is becoming as much loaded with fruitcake nonsense as those we claim to be better than. And, don’t kid yourself that pushing conspiracy theories here is harmless - far from it. It destroys our credibility, and gives ammunition to our enemies.

RBG is one of the most bizzare entries into canonization in recent American politics or jurisprudence, I have gotta say.This is a real phenomenon. Even a ludicrous movie made about her life...most likely a first ever made about a SC Justice-—I know Thurgood Marshall had a stage play...

It’s not childish at all. I want to see pics of these people. Is an incapacitated justice exhibiting “good behavior” as the constitution requires for a justice to keep their seat? No. They are being unethical in pretending to be present for duty. Is it ethical for a staff to be writing the opinions of an incapacitated justice? Of course not. The staff has not been nominated and confirmed to the scotus, as required by the constitution.
These are perfectly legitimate questions and denying that would be the childish response.
FWIW I think the only justices that write their own opinions are Thomas and the new guys. Clerks write the opinions and the justices just sign them. I doubt if RBG has penned her own opinion on any case in the last 10 years. This is nothing new. She has probably been incoherent for years, perhaps decades.
I heard a report that she has a vigorous exercise workout several times a week with a trainer.
