William Barr is our new attorney general -- Here are four things he should focus on right away
Fox News ^ | February 14, 2019 | Hans A. von Spakovsky

Posted on 02/14/2019 11:22:38 AM PST by jazusamo

With the confirmation of William Barr as the 85th Attorney General of the United States, we now have an experienced hand leading the Department of Justice.

At his confirmation hearing, Barr vowed to focus on violent crime, enforce our immigration laws, and protect the right to vote. But our country faces many additional challenges today, many of which require the active involvement of the Attorney General. Barr, who also served in the post under President George H.W. Bush, is uniquely qualified to lead the Department at this time.

It would have been hard for Trump to pick someone with a more detailed knowledge of the inner workings of the Justice Department and Capitol Hill. Barr also previously served as the Deputy Attorney General (the number two slot) and the Assistant Attorney General of the Office of Legal Counsel. That office provides legal analysis and advice to the attorney general and the president.

In short, Barr doesn’t need a months-long learning curve to understand how the department operates.

Barr made it clear in his confirmation hearing that he intends to ensure that the Justice Department, which includes the FBI, will “enforce the law evenhandedly and with integrity.” Barr promised that the department’s conduct would be “above and away from politics.” Nothing, he added, “could be more destructive of our system of government, of the rule of law, or the Department of Justice as an institution, than any toleration of political interference with the enforcement of the law.”

So what should Barr focus on, and why?

So much corruption in broad daylight and nothing being done about it. Those people need to face justice. We cannot continue with laws for the DC class and laws for everyone else. It will destroy our country.

Sadly, Ann, he’s indicated that he won’t restore the rule of law.

First, criminal referrals on the lot of them.

Second, evidence and case building which should be largely done.

Third, a PR campaign with Congress, the American Public to set the table to explain what the crimes are and why this is NOT a political prosecution.

Fourth, separation of those to be tried in court from those to be tried at military tribunals.

What is an election, if not political interference with the enforcement of law?

That statement can easily be construed as advocating bureaucratic dictatorship, which is just another way to say deep state.

“Maybe DJT knows something the rest of us don’t.”

Like what? We went through imaginations with Sessions and got nada recompense. Maybe Trump is simply out numbered and hindered in this area. I do believe he would take out the trash if he COULD.

I work two jobs for a total of twelve hours a day. I was just hoping to see it live instead of recorded.

I wanna believe
Honest.
However, this 34-D level chess is Q-uite crummy, and other than a remarkably pumped up economy, we are Not Winning in the long run.

The left is growing ever emboldened that none of their wrongdoers get prosecuted. And, conservatives are an endangered species (literally).

Maybe DJT knows something the rest of us don't.

Then again maybe he doesn't know a lot of what Freepers know or suspect.

and protect the right to vote.

I would rather he said he would prosecute those who try to corrupt the vote by illegal means. No one is messing with my right to vote.

1. Top priority should be enforcing immigration law. Deport all illegals. No exceptions. If the law is ambiguous, use the strictest possible interpretation. Make deporting illegals who are a burden on society the top priority, so check those charged with crimes and those on welfare rolls for illegals. Check voting records and deport all non-citizens who have voted.

2. Seek out election fraud, including taking a random sample of 1,000 ballots from each state and checking whether those voters exist and were eligible, just to give us an estimate of the magnitude of vote fraud. Prosecute election fraud as aggressively as possible. In states with high levels of fraud in the sample, do a more thorough audit to find where fraud occurred and when, and then audit all ballots from those precincts.

3. Seek out those in the Deep State guilty of sedition, treason, plotting a coup, and similar offenses. Working to overthrow a duly-elected president of the United States is evil. If we cannot get a criminal conviction, turn over the evidence for administrative use in firing them from their jobs for cause and removing any security clearances held by traitors. At least remove their ability to further betray our country and the American people.

4. Lock her up! We all know she’s guilty. We all know that an ordinary person who mishandled SCI material that badly would still be behind bars. Being a former First Lady or former Secretary of State should not be a get-out-of-jail-free card. Have a fair trial, then lock that evil woman up for the rest of her life.

The Muller investigation will not end till October of 2020—when it will be used to try and get Trump voted out by the Clinton/Obama Machine. They will invent something that looks like its impeachable to tar the president. It will drag on—it must serve the needs of the DNC.

“He BETTER GO AFTER Mueller, Rosenstein, Comey, McCabe, Lynch, Yates, Steele, GPS, the AWAN BROTHERS, Susan Rice, HILLIARY, HUMA, Cheryl Mills, Podesta, etc! HE BETTER!”

Barr said, “nothing could be more destructive of our system of government, of the rule of law, or the Department of Justice as an institution, than any toleration of political interference with the enforcement of the law.”

If he doesn’t investigate these people, then he is a failure from Day One.
