BREAKING: Federal Judge Declines to Block Citizenship Question from US 2020 Census
The Gateway Pundit ^ | February 10, 2019 | Jim Hoft

A federal judge ruled on Friday the US government can include citizenship question on the US Census. It makes complete sense so Democrats are against it.

It also affects how much federal funding the sanctuary communities will receive from American taxpayers. So, of course, Democrats are against this.

Outline reported:

A federal judge ruled late Friday she is unconvinced of an immediate need to block a citizenship question from the 2020 census over privacy concerns.

US District Judge Dabney Friedrich declined to issue a preliminary injunction requested by a privacy and civil liberties nonprofit group, the Electronic Privacy Information Center.

The group argued that the US Census Bureau was required to complete a privacy impact assessment before Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross announced the addition of the question.

In response, the government acknowledged it is required to update its privacy impact assessments, but must do so before collecting census responses, rather than before deciding what questions would appear.

“Will Ruthie be opining on the matter?”

Yeah, through a seance or ouija board.

It’s still great news - in the ‘old days’ a judge would have allowed illegals to be counted as citizens and districts with the most illegals would have been awarded more representation and funds...

It would have been a toxic incentive... God willing the SC will back up this judge.

Ha, the u.s robotics modem. We still have one of those that is used off of a server using windows scan and fax as a backup to notify fire districts of fire calls!!!

I can’t wait to get rid of it (I’ll probably be retired before then!)

I also worked the Census, but in 1970 Miami.

A colleague (aged about 75) worked an adjacent Latino neighborhood. We were paid 50 cents per address visited. My colleague (from NYC) never left his apartment, and finished in record time!

It will discourage illegals from participating and that is a good thing.

The census numbers also determine the number of electoral college votes.

It is much more then 11 million. I recall 180 million USA population. We are over 320 million now. We all owe $66,700 to pay off 20 trillion. I can pay. Why are we letting free loaders in, welfare, EBT, free anything. WORK OR STARVE.

If you use 2010 data (I admit, things might have changed)...the five states most drastically affected by this are: California, Delaware, Texas, Nevada, and New Mexico. The six states least affected: Alaska, Vermont, Wyoming, Montana, West Virginia, and North Dakota. This number though concerns the percentage against the citizens of the state, not quantity itself.

For the record, Delaware only has one Rep, so this wouldn’t matter much. Nevada has four Rep’s and I doubt it’d be enough to really shift their Rep numbers. So you come to New Mexico, which has 3 Reps, and I have my doubts it’d shift their numbers much. Texas and California are two with issues. I would agree that between the two of them....they might be losing ten to twelve.

NY, Florida and Illinois come up next. There’s probably enough for each to lose one to two seats each.

So the real question, after the smoke clears...Supreme Court action goes on, and a massive fight to occur...who are the gaining states?

The other thing that few really grasp about this....you are talking about eight to ten states having to draw up new congressional districts in 2021/2022. All of these redrawing efforts will go to the Supreme Court, so if Trump does eventually replace RBG on the court...it makes a tremendous difference in the redrawing mess yet to come.

Add this into the pot as well....population displacement is going on in NYC, Illinois, and California. In the case of Illinois, I suspect they will find a loss of 400,000 or more residents since 2010’s census. Illinois may end up suing the Census to claim it was faulty and failed to ‘count correctly’.
