The CBS broadcast game out of Atlanta was seen by a total audience of 100.7 million, according to CBS Sports.
That number comes from when you add up everyone who watched on CBS the network, CBS Interactive, NFL digital properties, Verizon Media mobile properties, ESPN Deportes television and other digital properties. Besides being a very unique bundling spin on Super Bowl numbers that previous broadcasters havent shamelessly taken, thats the first time the NFLs big game on a network as fallen beneath 100 million viewers since 2009 when the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 in Super Bowl XLIII.
With no mention of how the tepid Maroon 5 led halftime show did, CBS are keeping the actual number of eyeballs that saw the game on the network alone close to the chest. However, I hear that it is very close on the low side to the 98.7 million of 2009s Super Bowl XLIII.
The actual number of people who watched the 6:32 to 10:05 PM ET game on CBS itself was 98.2 million
Which means, without CBSs sleight of bundled hand, last nights game is down just over 5% in total audience from last years Super Bowl on NBC. Compared to the last time the net had the big NFL game in 2016, the sewn together number of 2019 Super Bowl took a tumble of 12%.
In terms of post-game play, the news was much better for CBS and hence they played it more straightforwardly.
Unencumbered by overtime or any other delays that have hobbled previous post-Super Bowl slot holders, the 10 30 PM ET premiere of the James Cordon hosted and EPd competition series The Worlds Best pulled in around 22.2 million sets of eyeballs with an 18-49 demo rating of 7.0.

They deserved everything they got.
It’s all the fault of those racists deplorables who don’t want to tune in and see their country and culture and way of life run down and stomped on.
It was the Russians.
lol
Interesting stats given on a local evening news program: Highest viewership: Boston Second: Cleveland Last: New Orleans. LA didn’t tune in impressively. One can’t help but speculate from those stats that LA being chosen for the SuperBowl seriously impacted viewership.
My super double secret Russki operative called me and told me to boycott the Super Bowl. So I did.
Well, they could bring back the well defined pass interference rule that used to be enforced to increase scoring.
It was the most boring Super Bowl I can remember. Even most of the commercials were boring.
“It was the Russians”
Nah, they’re too busy giving “fake” opinions on new Star Wars movies ... the professional critic reviews are completely out of phase with audience reviews, so the Russians are clearly influencing Star Wars movie reviews.
I think a new enemy is creating fake NFL ratings ... I want to blame that civilization that keeps itself closed off from the rest of the world and kills anyone attempting to venture onto their island ... I believe it is off the coast of India ... those bastards have been pretty quiet for a long, long time and they have got to be working to destroy ‘muh democracy’.
I watched the game because I enjoy seeing Brady work his magic. I nearly bailed before the game started though due to the civil rights blather and parade of old black racists.
Well I for one watched it.
From a bar. They had a cable connection which covered it.
It will be interesting in the next year or two, to see whether either of the two new competitors to the NFL will have a similar game.
I would watch it.
Let’s be honest.
And I’ll be honest, I am a Patriots fan from Alabama.
But like the Tide, the Patriots win too often and unless your team is in the Super Bowl playing them, the rest of the country doesn’t care.
Also, the NFL Kneelers and the SJW-politically correct NFL management has really hurt the brand.
Still, if it was the KC Chiefs versus the New Orleans Saints, a lot more people would have watched.
I’m super-pumped that they’ve now won 6 Super Bowls, but Belichick and Brady are too good for their own good.
Wooohhh! That’s great! Don Jr.!
This is the 1st Super Bowl I’ve ever missed. I’ll get by without the NFL. And I’m not going back.
And just for the record, I (never) go to bars anymore.
:)
For real.
Still, if it was the KC Chiefs..............
A lot of people will be watching Mahomes and the Chiefs. That kid is amazing.
