Virginia lawmaker says she wouldn’t have co-sponsored controversial abortion bill if she had read it

A Virginia lawmaker sent an email to her constituents Wednesday night apologizing for attaching her name to a controversial abortion bill without reading it closely enough.

In a newsletter, Del. Dawn Adams, D-Richmond, said she "did not exercise due diligence" before co-sponsoring the abortion legislation with Del. Kathy Tran, D-Fairfax. Tran became the focus of a social media firestorm this week after Republicans circulated video of her saying the bill would allow abortions up until the moment of birth if one doctor certified that the mother's physical or mental health was at risk.

"I made a mistake, and all I know to do is to admit it, tell the truth, and let the chips fall where they may," said Adams, a first-term delegate who won a close upset victory in 2017 in her suburban district and could face a competitive re-election campaign this year.

Proud to have participated in Operation Boat People ‘78-‘79; Kathy Tran is the only one we should have thrown back.

Oh. She only accidentally attempted to enact legal murder of living children. Does that make her better or worse than Tran? Not sure.

She thought the Bill would only allow an Abortion 90 Seconds before Birth, not up to the moment of Birth.

After more than six million were slaughtered in the Holocaust, the Jewish pledge of “Never Again” has, obviously, been lost to Marxist Liberal DemonRATs who have legalized infant murder.

Republican Garrison Coward, a former aide to Rep. Rob Wittman, R-1st, has announced he's running against Adams this year. Coward recently announced an endorsement from former U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-7th.

I’m absolutely fine with politicians who realize they’ve screwed up and admit it, apologize, and move on.

Anyone who isn’t must lead a pretty special life, as everyone is human, and the ability to admit ones mistakes is a sign of character.

I have much bigger problems with politicians who stand by stupid indefensible positions after new information becomes available or after they realize their position is indefensible.

I dont believe she didnt know what was in the bill.

I dont believe a cosponsor doesnt know what in their bill.

I think shemis still continuing to lie to people about this.

Further even if she was, to vote,on and not know whats in a radical abortion bill that everyone knows is radical, either way she doesnt deserve to be in office. Total evil or total ineptness in office, deserve her immediate removal. Plus I think she dxactly knew and is lying now, so more reason to remove her for lying to the world. She thinks she comes off better looking inept, thinks this is the better scenario for her, so she lies and says “oopsie”.

Any guy who did this id say deserves kicking out. She deserves kicking out and never being let back in.

The penalty for supporting any piece of legislation your haven’t read and understand should be death by wood chipper, feet first.

Another politician who wouldn’t last a week in the private sector.

“Gee, I’m sorry, boss! I just fired up the industrial plastic shredders without looking to see if anyone was in there doing maintenance on them. My bad!”

Is this the best this district could come up with for a candidate for public office. What representation!
