The Huffington Post cut down its commentary and healthcare teams Thursday.
As of this morning, HuffPost's opinion section is no more. I and the rest of the team have been let go, the former head of the opinion section at Huffington Post, Bryan Maygers, tweeted.
I spent the last few years reporting on two of the most pressing issues in public health gun violence and the opioid crisis and today @HuffPost eliminated its health team, former senior public health reporter at Huffington Post, Erin Schumaker, posted to Twitter Thursday, adding that she was in the market for a new job.

Boo Hoo girl is sad!
must be exhausting removing the right-wing pro-Trump comments every hour LOl
Like the section on native Ethiopian cuisine. And the "how-to's" for constructing Aztec fighting gear using pasta noodles.
HuffPo had an Opinion section? I thought the whole damn site is Opinion...
I wonder if that’s what’s going there.
I’ve noticed a number of newspaper and radio station sites have disabled comments in the past few years.
The liberals who run those sites just couldn’t understand the many pro conservative, pro Trump, anti liberal party line comments, could they??
Typical liberal response. They can’t control the commentary from readers, so the response is just to shut it down.
I thought that HuffPo was nothing but bloviating left-wing opinion...... what do they have left without an “opinion” section????
Like a dog eating his own vomit, I’m sure they will end up getting a gig with George Soros.
That doesn't make much sense. I thought pretty much everything on HuffPost was opinion.
HuffPo ran Trump’s bid for election in their Entertainment section. I guess they’re not so entertained any more.
An AI can now rewrite the DNC talking points into the style of your favorite agitprop brand. Quicker, cheaper, and much less hassle than employing whiny self-entitled leftists.
I think the only exception may be Yahoo. I see it from time to time as the Trumpers overwhelm the threads if a lib article pops up. LAT started to shut down the comments section for local news a year ago because they knew the readers would ALWAYS post something “FR-ish”..
The libs’ wet dream is indeed to “build babies from scratch” (in a Petri dish), without the bothersome processes of sex, conception, and gestation.
The main problem was having to monitor comments for foul-mouthed attention seekers. Too little bang for the buck.
Did they eat all the men?
All huffs, no posts?
Holy Toledo......
That group is not celebrating diversity. The lack of gender and ethnic and age diversity is stunning.
Dates from Hell?
