I guess from a simplistic power-play point of view — one could say Pelosi won and Trump caved and lost on this skirmish.
I don’t think Trump wanted to give the SOTU under these circumstances. Perhaps he believes he can use the SOTU to better advantage after the shutdown is over.

Oh, good grief! Get ready for a bunch of fickle FReepers to dump Trump. Apparently, some people don’t know that you don’t always hit a home run, every time you come up to bat. Besides, til I know that this is truly EXACTLY what he said, I’m not going to get my panties in a wad. And even if it’s accurate, I sure as heck am not going to dump Trump over it. If I expected perfection, I’d have waited til Jesus is on the ballot.
1) Trump has a definite date in mind where he will soon end the shutdown by declaring a national emergency, so that he can fund the wall.
2) Trump folded like a cheap suit.
Maybe his acquiesce will get that irrational woman to fund the border wall?
This is not a win, but the crazies have been called up for violence. Shootings in Florida & NJ. Then tonight a goober attempted (it was for show as he was available for media questions) to set himself on fire.
Trump probably just gave Pelosi and the DEMs one more reason *never* to fund the wall or end the shutdown. The longer this drags on, the less important the SOTU becomes. Honestly, it needs to be either build the wall or start a civil war. But the Right in general has no stomach for a civil war.
Supposedly, 30 Democrats wrote to Pelosi in a letter today to provide funding for a barrier when the gov’t is back open. LOL
Hannity needs to call trump tonight and talk some sense to him. The optics are not good here. We need a win out of this.
This will be a propaganda coup for the left. I think Trump is overwhelmed with a lack of support and too-many long-knives in our on party. This action steals the momentum from any favorable negotiations on the wall/shutdown (unless secret agreements have already been made). He should have at the least said nothing.
The nomination of Barr is also troubling, along with the fact that no one from the Obama-Clinton clans have been prosecuted.
So what is Plan B? There will be no Q, or 9-D Trump, that is coming to the rescue.

If they are going to continue the shutdown, then shut down all the gov’t. Why should 25% of the workforce be held hostage by Pelosi and President Trump?

Yes, I am a federal employee, about to miss my second paycheck. Figure I would give full disclosure. Sure, they say I’ll get paid eventually but that is hardly comforting when they are talking about dragging it into the summer.
I still support the President but this partial shutdown and the powers that be’s cavalier attitude is really starting to piss me off.

At the end of the day, the battle lines are already drawn between the deeply immoral, no moral boundaries sex driven, anti-American, global socialist, seeking total subjugation or slavery of society, and those who love God, love liberty, hate slavery, love justice, and love America!
Unfortunately, the largely brainwashed, economic and historically illiterate, who cannot come to grips with morality, or discern right from wrong, are the ones who swing back and forth, from one election to next.
Nancy Botox, knows who her base is, and will continue to try to satisfy them as much and as long as possible. And the mass media, and anti-American global socialist DNC are blatant borish liars, and are one and the same.
Could be wrong here, but the undecided group in the middle probably gravitates toward the whoever projects and performs as the stronger leader. Even if they do not necessarily agree with a leader, I have known several over the years, who in the end, gravitate towards the warrior/fighter leader.
Even while not really true, the perception of giving in, (or as some are saying, “capitulating”) to Nancy Botox and her radical base, has already resulted in what they perceive as a solid win against Trump.
Additionally, while there is some panic, Nancy’s House is still showing resolution in continuing to hurt Trump. In their hearts, they could really care less about people getting hurt, or lives. The end always justifies the means.
In the end, Trump still wins this.
However, I believe POTUS Trump could have really “blown the doors off”, and really done some damage to DNC Uniparty global socialists elite, by giving his SOTU in a number of different iconoc forums, packed with legal immigrants, conservative legislators, and injured recovering service members, and others.
It’s not over, but right now this looks like a blown opportunity.
Not just on SOTU, but Trump seems to be taking some bad advice on a number of issues, perhaps most importantly not more aggressively going after those who actually have conspired with Russian and other foreign ops to carry out a real coup, and giving in to seeding Executive authority to lower federal courts on immigration, even if only for the m on the it takes to get to the SCOTUS.
The left is so bad today, if our Constitution and liberty are to survive, Trump really needs to go all in for the truth, to try and take out the treasonous lawbreaker elites leading our agencies.
There is no compromising or cushion with those who intend to enslave us, and destroy morality and America.
