If I didn’t hate cold weather, that would probably be a pretty good choice.

It was actually 7 points, but please, don't let me interrupt your Texas bashing.

Cruz won the race 50.9 to 48.3 percent — the closet U.S. Senate race in Texas since 1978.

I like Texas. It sucks to see it become more liberal. Then again, every state is becoming increasingly liberal. There are no states that are becoming more conservative. Texas isn't special. That's just the way it is.

“Where is Tennessee?”

Was wondering the same thing. No income tax,low property tax, pro business, last time it voted democrat for president was Carter. If Algore could have carried his home state in 2000, he would have been president without Fla

Ted Cruz’s Senate race would not have been as close as it was if Ted had actually showed up to campaign when he should have.

As it was, he let Beto have the field to himself for nearly the entire campaign season, only showing up at the last minute to fight for his seat.

Who knows why he was so lax? He’s never given a reasonable explanation for it. He’s just damn lucky that he pulled it off with the limited time and money he put into it.

That said, consider this. Even though Ted stepped into the ring at the eleventh hour, short on time and money, and was facing an opponent who had just spent a solid year campaigning with the biggest Senate race warchest in US history - he still beat him.

This, despite the fact that lots of Texas conservatives still had hard feelings leftover for Ted from the 2016 presidential race.

If Texas weren’t still strongly conservative that would not have been possible.

“So sad. I always thought Texas would be my last refuge......”

Still a great choice. There’s a lot of miles between the cities

Lots of conservatives weren’t thrilled with Trump, and lots of non-conservatives jumped on his train, so I wouldn’t use that as a bellwether for the most conservative States.

Ah!
The typical childish retort from the Navy drunkard.
Nothing changes and your “truth” is a LIE....

My point was that every state has it’s leftist cesspools of slave mentality.
I go to Greenville all the time and the elitism in that city makes Ashville look tame and almost normal.

The bitter clingers are dying at an astounding rate. Suicides, OD’s and just plain old age. That’s everywhere.

It’s possibly the most gun rights friendly state in the Union!!!

Or not. SC prohibits ownership of full auto.

Arkansas on the list?

They seem to have elected the Clintons endlessly so that they could start their careers as Co-Presidents of the United States, forever.

Arkansas a conservative place? Something doesn’t compute.

IMHO

That’s the way the Republican party rolls. Say one thing, do another.

Inaccurate and unfair. It's more like "Say one thing, do nothing."

Washington State must be on the list. It is hugely left-wing and has been for years.

Yes, but TCruz did not seem to take Beto seriously. He was out of touch on Beto-mania, which is still very strong. There’s nothing more dangerous than a pro-Beto mob.

I know Dinesh and Shapiro and Hannity and Rush like their theories simple and self serving for access but this notion Republican defines conservative is balderdash as this 1964 electoral map shows....who besides his home state supported Barry...why dastardly Dixiecrats .....and the few Republicans in Dixie like my dad and grandpa ...certainly not northeastern white shoe GOP...just like anti Trumpers they supported the enemy
