Howie Carr: Massachusetts a breeding ground for the worst
boston herald ^ | 1/12/2019 | howie carr

Doesn’t it sometimes seem like almost every sanctimonious jerk in politics and the left-wing media has some kind of connection to Massachusetts?

The commonwealth has become a magnet for a hugely disproportionate number of America’s most obnoxious know-it-alls — they’re not all natives, but so many of the nation’s most insufferable idiots have spent time here, and they all have one thing in common: They’re smarter, more moral and just generally better than the rest of us, and they want to inform us of their superiority 24/7, whether we want to hear about it or not.

This state has turned out more jokers than the old Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in Sarasota ever dreamed of.

It’s amazing. Normal people come here, to go to college or on vacation or make a movie or something, and they suddenly devolve into … Kennedys.

Take Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — please, take her! Boston University. Another freshman in Congress — Sen. Mitt Romney, the former governor who began his late-life D.C. career be-clowning himself with a hysterical anti-Trump op-ed in The Washington Post.

Speaking of which, how come every national sex scandal also has a Bay State angle? Just Wednesday, the owner of the Post, leftist billionaire Jeff Bezos, was outed by the National Enquirer as conducting his extra-marital affair with a “busty” former local TV anchor in, among other places … Cambridge.

“and a drive I once took in San Luis Obispo along the coastline was one of the most beautiful drives I ever had.”

Twice now, in my work Flagging for SCCA @ the Long Beach Grand Prix, I've taken Amtrak from Oakland to Los Angeles. While it takes nearly 12 hours, the trip along the coast when you get south of SLO is worth the time it takes. The train goes right along the coast through Vandenberg AFB so you can actually view the rocket launch pads, and the coast south of there going into Santa Barbara is beautiful as well. The capper is getting to see Union Station in Downtown LA, and as a senior, the round trip is about $90! Contrast all of it with the completely boring drive down I-5.

As for your comments about being a “deplorable” in CA, you are spot on. I get really tired of these self-serving a$$holes here from so-called “red states” ( where their “homes” likely have wheels) spewing their hatred for California while not really knowing $hit about the place. Furthermore, they are also almost always under the misunderstanding that none of what has happened here will ever touch them, particularly Texans. Texans are living in La La Land if they can't see that their state is doing now exactly what occurred in CA during the “Arnold the Awful’s” final “repubican administration. I hope history proves me wrong, because we certainly need a “red Texas” if the country is to have a chance at survival.
Peace DoddleBob, people need to see that conservatives are in this fight together, and that these internecine fights between people of various states is exactly what the RATs are counting on to complete their takeover.

I am proud to say that I am a FORMER resident of Massachusetts. Living there felt like I was living behind enemy lines. Six years ago I moved to Georgia and have never regretted it. I went from being represented by Jim McGovern (D) to Jody Hice (R) who is a member of the Freedom Caucus.

Yes. My grandfather settled in Chelsea when he left Ireland. My father grew up there. It now seems to have a large illegal population. When Romney was gov, Rep. O’Flaherty of Chelsea introduced a bill giving licenses to illegal aliens. Romney said he’d veto it and it died. Sadly, Romney is the best we can expect. I’d love to see Rep. Shaunna O’Connell as governor, but she’d be highly unlikely to make it. She’s not afraid!

Exactly.

NJ has some good diners.

NJ still has conservative areas (Ocean, Monmouth, Morris, parts of Essex, Burlington)

We made sure to send our kids out of this state for college! They aren’t moonbats and we wanted to keep it that way.

“They heap scorn on the working-class “townies” but often decide to settle here. “

But the working class townies have primarily voted Democrat for about 100 years.

From the article. This should make your blood boil:

Lois Lerner, the corrupt IRS bureaucrat who took the Fifth Amendment when asked about persecuting Tea Party groups on behalf of her Democrat bosses — flush with a fat federal pension, she just dropped $1.96 million on a mansion on Nantucket.

I wouldn’t know and I no longer care. I moved out in the the 1990’s before it got too bad, right around the same time the Old Man of the Mountain slid away.

They are the new Puritans of the 21st century.

True that, but I *will* say, that the NJ Republicans I know are generally of the RINO variety. They are NOT terribly Deplorable. They gave us conservative stalwarts (!) such as Christie and Christine Todd Whitless. In general, NJ Republicans are anti-gun and wish-washy on abortion. Their chief conservative bona fides consist of wanting taxes to be lower and not liking Cuomo.

That said, the Deplorables in NJ are amongst the most rabid liberty-loving, gun-loving, abortion-hating, and "blue-collar" in their ethics folks you can find. Invite them to your barbecue and expect some of the best conversation you'll ever have (and they'll being awesome sides).

Somewhere out there you used to be able to buy a novelty map of the USA without Massachusetts. Good to put up in a rc room for laughs.

But honorable mention should go to Baltimore, MD, “birthplace” of Nazi D’Alesandro (Pelosi), Baltimore’s “Miss Lube Rack of 1950” who came to SF to “continue to lube the country”...

Baltimore also gave us long-time Senator Barbara Mikulski. In fact, she and Pelosi attended the same Catholic high school for girls.

“she and Pelosi attended the same Catholic high school for girls.”

I guess “girls high school” has a different meaning in Ballmore! Pelosi and Mikulski are not “girls” in the traditional sense in my book. I can’t imagine a worse fate than ever having to wake up in the morning next to either one of them.
