Presidential candidate wants to give everyone $1,000 a month in free cash
By Aris Folley - 01/10/19 07:18 PM EST
Democratic presidential hopeful Andrew Yang is vowing to pay every American citizen between the ages of 18 and 64 a $1,000 check once a month if he is elected in 2020.
Yang, who is running his presidential campaign largely around the idea of universal basic income, already launched a pilot program for free cash payments known as the Freedom Dividend, CNBC reported on Wednesday.
For the program, Yang selected a family in Goffstown, New Hampshire, who he says will be receiving $12,000 in free cash for the year.
Yang said Charles Fassi, his wife and child received their first $1,000 check from him at a party on New Year's Eve in New York City.
Yang said that technically "the pilot is just for one person, Jodie," but we ended up meeting the whole family, since Janelle filled out the nomination form, and their family story is so relatable. They are a perfect example of how $1,000 freedom dividend would help families across the country, and the entire family has gotten behind the concept and has agreed to share their experiences.
Yang told CNBC his campaign "selected the Fassi family because their story is so compelling and relatable. Millions of Americans will be able to see their own families in the Fassis.

That might last for a couple months and then the government would go broke. Hello Venezuela.
A gimmick to create a need for more immigrants to fill jobs abandoned by people who decide that they no longer need entry level jobs.
cannot be a serious candidate.

Of course, $1,000 won’t buy a cup of coffee after it causes hyperinflation, but as long as liberals care that is all that matters.
Age discrimination against the young and old.
What is the rationale that justifies paying $1,000 a month to young able-bodied adults who are highly employable versus not paying the stipend to older people who tend to have problems finding employment and who generally have medical issues and higher medical costs?
You should've learned to play the guitar...
A yen for a Yang.
I was thinking that.
I’ll need a free new Corvette, a free new Camaro and a free new Mustang.
Just to be environmentally-responsible, they might as well give me a new free Prius.
Oh, and free insurance on my cars, house ‘n’ stuff.
I suppose I’ll need my own jet airplane. A Falcon 900 will be just fine. Free fuel, maintenance hangar, pilots, fees, etc.
Love the UHF version...
“New measurements, aided by an international network of 3,900 floats deployed in the oceans since 2000, showed more warming since 1971”
Captures the absolute reality of this lunacy.
From one taxpayer to another one who doesn’t.
I think it is very generous of him, and if I get some extra cash maybe I’ll kick in a couple bucks

Does "everyone" include my cat? If so, count me in.
Why not $1,000,000 per month? I bet he would get more votes. Unfortunately, our taxes would rise to 95% or more. But heh, it’s free money from the “gubment”. What a jackarse!
That bastard!! I'm 65. I WANT MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Out of his own pocket?
Damn! Sign me up!
Oh wait.... how silly of me. Democrats never use their own money.. or move out of the country.
Damn shame that.
I want $8000
idiot Yang. tax cuts would let people keep their money instead of paying in and then getting 1000$ a month back. Also some folks should get more than that back and many should get less than that back due to their tax burden. The USA was not founded on fair and even steven everyone gets the same but dems don’t care and will try to keep forcing their socialism on us anyway.
is your cat 18-64 yrs old?
