This week, the American Psychological Association proved once again that it is a political body rather than a scientific one. It has done it before -- in 2013, it reclassified "gender identity disorder" in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, calling it "gender dysphoria" and then explaining that living with the delusion that you are a member of the opposite sex is not actually a mental disorder at all. That ruling was based on zero scientific evidence -- much like the original DSM-5 classification of pedophilia as a "sexual orientation" before it was renamed "pedophilic disorder" under public pressure.
The latest example of the APA's political hackery concerns the topic of "traditional masculinity." In the APA journal, it announced that it had released new guidelines to "help psychologists work with men and boys." Those guidelines suggest that "40 years of research" show that "traditional masculinity is psychologically harmful and that socializing boys to suppress their emotions causes damage that echoes both inwardly and outwardly." The APA explains that "traditional masculinity -- marked by stoicism, competitiveness, dominance and aggression -- is, on the whole, harmful. Men socialized in this way are less likely to engage in healthy behaviors."

Psychology is a fraud. It’s not science.
Weakness is strength. Successfully dealing with hardships and adversity is no longer politically acceptable. Only the government can cope on your behalf.
So is what’s being passed off as “science” these days.
If it can’t ultimately be reduced to physics and mathematics, it’s not science.
That's hard to master.
Unfortunately, it's cheap to teach compared to STEM studies, so schools hand out degrees like candy for a hundred or two thousand [dollars].
Even more unfortunate is the legal weight given to psychology.
What’s a shame is that cognitive science is doing great in other areas.
Feminazis were certifiably crazy and pro chaos.
This is their handiwork.
This is not an empty claim and I can cite some names.
These people are idiots.
Anyone who has ever know a man who does not suppress his emotions will tell you that it is not a good idea.
Men who do not suppress their emotions are vicious brutes who beat up women and children. Death by blunt force trauma is often the final outcome of living with a man that does not suppress his emotions.
Students study psychology to figure out is wrong with themselves and then they rationalize their abnormalities.
Mr. Spock? Yes. He had no doctorate.
Looking back to one’s college years, ‘Did you ever meet a psych major that wasn’t psycho?’. It always seemed to me they were in that major to try and unravel their own problems.
What next...advocating castration before puberty so we can have a generation of eunuch pajama boys.

Subsequently, it is quite resistant to
applying the Scientific Methods
Data is filtered through the same biases and perspective
that we all have. It is unavoidable.

He may have had one but he was a serving military officer. He went by that title. That is the proper protocol. (Anyway its a TV show!) I know military officer with PhDs. If still in uniform I never call them Dr Captain, Colonel or General (or Captain, Colonel or General Dr!), if out of uniform then Dr so-n-so. If I know their pervious rank out of respect of for that rank I still call some of them by that rank until they tell me not to.
Of course they all have to call me the “Nameless One “ and avert their eyes!
I always thought Spock showed more respect and forbearance for military protocol then anyone else on the Enterprise!

Millions of years of evolution cant be wrong.
I once taught a college course called Cultural Diversity which covered certain minority groups to help the students understand and sympathize with them, as well as to motivate support for their struggles to obtain equal rights. Given my background, I added a short unit on Jews. When college administrators realized this, the course was openly taken away from me for this reason. I was told that ‘the American problem is white males and, as Jews are white males, they are part of the problem.’ Is history being repeated in America?
