A newly elected Democratic congresswoman from Southern California said Friday her party may concede to President Donald Trumps $5 billion demand for border wall funding to end the ongoing government shutdown... Congresswoman-elect Katie Hill, whose come-from-behind victory in November flipped the 25th District seat for Democrats, said she may vote to grant Trumps $5 billion funding request.

For the record,
Her come from behind vote theft that flip the seat to the Democrats.
Make note in future discussions that even if Trump gets 60% of the national vote he will lose in 2020 if vote fraud is not stopped or at least severely curtailed.
Yup. Compromise. Pony up $25 billion or prepare to stay home while we keep d.c. shut down. Sounds right.
I think theyre all sick of Nancy Pelosis grandstanding obstructionism (from the beach in Hawaii!) because its making them look bad. Trump said even Schumer was willing to negotiate.
It wouldnt surprise me if some of the junior members are the ones sent out to take the heat for compromising, because that lets Nancy off the hook and she can blame them but at the same time get herself out of a no-win situation. She needs votes to be the Speaker, and I think she might be thinking twice about the corner shes backed herself into.
Another lying poll; If the results are accurate, then their polling sample must have been limited to the California Legislature and the denizens Washington D.C..
That would be the outright public vote fraud known as "ballot harvesting" that flipped the 25th District seat.
The 116th Congress is illegitimate, and any laws they pass are null and void.
Compromise? Geez, no.
5 billion is already more than a compromise.
That will leave 3 of the US House California seats in the hands of the Republicans - and one of those is in the "danger zone".

Congresswoman-elect Katie Hill, whose come-from-behind victory in November flipped the 25th District seat for Democrats, said she may vote to grant Trumps $5 billion funding request.
Probably a smart move, since she didn't actually win the most votes.
Politicians think government is about compromise. Trump thinks government is about winning.
“She needs votes to be the Speaker”
Maybe she just has to posture until after her election to Speaker, like McCarthy did on the Republican side with his “Build the Wall and Enforce the Law” Act. Didn’t hear much about that after he got elected.
They might approve $2.5 billion per year for two years, so it can be called 2.5 or 5, depending on who is talking. That much money would do a good piece of work on the border - it goes to where it is needed most first.
Ah yes, behold another come from behind (new code word for fraud) representative.
The new normal is to deplore things like vote harvesting where it hurts the democrats yet legalize it and forced ranked voting and applaud them as legal.
Yessiree, the democrat party doesnt give a damn if you hate their agenda, they are too busy making sure you can never vote against it.
Thank you for mentioning that ChildOfThe60s.
Pres. Trump has the Constitution on his side, if he uses it.
More specifically, patriots need to support Pres. Trump in working with the states to enforce the 12th Amendment (12A) and Section 2 of the 14th Amendment (14A). If that is successful then we probably wouldnt need to worry about ballot box-cheating Democrats anymore.
Enforcing 12A will put a stop to unconstitutional state winner-take-all electoral votes imo.
"Excerpted from the 12th Amendment: "The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice- President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate [emphasis added]; "
Enforcing Section 2 of 14A will prohibit undocumented Democrats from voting.
"14th Amendment, Section 2. Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens [emphasis added] twenty-one years of age in such State."
Note that subsequent voting-related amendments to the Constitution have effectively change how voting criteria specified in Section 2 is to be interpreted imo.
Also regarding Section 2, Trump will need to work with the states to allow only those people who present a valid citizenship / photo ID card to vote. Such cards need to be scannable to facilitate Democratic ballot box officials with "poor" eyesight.
Insights welcome.
10 Billion gifted to Mexico n Central America by the prez has 15 Thousand migrants on the way.
Thats a jeckuva ROI.
I thought the House already voted and okay’d the funds for the wall and now it’s in the Senate waiting on enough dems to vote for it before McConnell will bring it up for a vote.
They gotta get it done before this congress ends..
That happens soon and no one seems motivated to do anything except Trump.
You are right that the House voted for border wall funding, but the Senate does not have the 60 votes needed to pass it.
So the House vote will just die on the vine, and the next House and Senate will be seated on January 3rd. The old House vote will no longer be valid, and both chambers start fresh.
“They gotta get it done before this congress ends..”
They need 60 votes in the Senate to overcome a filibuster.
Republicans can’t get 50 votes to suspend or eliminate the filibuster rule, as several Republican Senators have said they will not vote to end filibuster - Flake, Corker, Hatch, Kyl, and I believe at least one other.
So the Senate will not act, unless enough Democrats agree.
All indications are that they will just wait till after they have the House on Tuesday.
wait till the rats have the house?
how do the republicans think this is going to help?
No I meant that the Dems will wait until they have the House (Thursday).
The Republicans just don’t have enough votes in the Senate, so the Dems will run out the clock until they take control of the House.
