Almost all Vietnamese in US love Trump. They value hard work, don’t like people on welfare, and they think Trump will make people work and make it possible for them to work for good wages.

And they hate China, anything bad happens they think China is behind it.

Generally 1st generation Vietnamese immigrants are solid Patriotic American citizens.

One of my sons (not the one with the Vietnamese MIL) was married in April and moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand in June with his wife. They have traveled all over SE Asia and had a blast. They were living in Brooklyn before so their cost of living went way, way down. Their furnished apartment in a gated community in Chiang Mai is $565/ month.

When we went to Hanoi with them in October, I totally understood why expats would want to live there. The food is amazing, it is cheap as heck and the countryside is beautiful.

Nice. I have a friend in Chiang Mai. Tremendous number of expats. Any hobby or interest you have, there is an organized expat get together about it.

It’s on my list.

We lived in Southern CA when they were brought into Camp Pendleton pending their final settlement in apartment houses around OC. Watched the building over the years of the community known as Little Saigon in Westminster. They weren’t idle but always working. They bought homes.

Can’t help but wonder if that South Vietnam General is still alive and living there. Guess he was the PM...and commander of the South Vietnamese Air Force...this doesn’t speak of him as a general. He got a lot of attention amid all the refugees settling there.

“”Ky was once spoke about General Douglas MacArthur saying, “He said ‘old soldiers never die, they just fade way.’ That’s me, too.” He passed away at 80 years old in July 2011””
