Trump is Right to Withdraw from Syria
Frontpage Magazine ^ | December 2, 2018 | Robert Spencer

prompting the resignation of Defense Secretary James Mattis and arousing the ire of CNN – both excellent indications that the President is on the right track.

CNN, the 24/7 Hate Trump Network, headlined its story on the withdrawal “Trump orders rapid withdrawal from Syria in apparent reversal,” giving the impression that an erratic Trump was changing course, only to admit in the article itself that the President “has long signaled his desire to get out of Syria.”

Meanwhile, in his self-righteous and condescending resignation letter, which is being heralded by all the usual establishment suspects today as a positively Confucian outpouring of wisdom, even Mattis admits that he agrees with Trump on the salient issue at play in Syria: “Like you, I have said from the beginning that the armed forces of the United States should not be the policeman of the world.”

That’s why it’s time to bring the troops home from Syria, and why Trump is right to do so. Trump explained it himself: “We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency.”

Mattis just had to go out like a punk. Trump has put up with the vilest betrayals in presidential history.

A fleet of littoral combat ships, with plenty of tomahawk missiles, patrolling the Levantine Sea.

A fleet of littoral combat ships,

Those made are way over budget, underarmed, undermanned, and basically defenseless aluminum cans which will burn at first hit dearth traps. Which is why no more are going to be made.

Not to pill on but the Med is now basically a Russian pond

those littorals are no match for any Russian ship currently in the Med - further the S-300/400 systems at Tartos would take them out before they got within range to launch any sort of missile - if they had any.

Trump is Right to Withdraw from Syria yes the Kurds and Israelis are already looking for a new home as their current ones are about to be overrun.

20,000-30,000 ISIS and 50,000 Al Qaeda where shocked to learn they are defeated and are headed back to where they came from, heads hanging in shame.

meanwhile the Iranians are cheering their easy victory over the paper tiger, and likely will shortly begin moving major troop assets from Syria and Iran/Iraq up to the Israeli and Jordanian borders while the Turks eliminate the Kurdish problem once an for all.

A major war is setting its stage.

Spenser has lost any credibility he once had.

All CNN is for is cursing POTUS. If Pres. Trump gavbe the medal of freedom to Obama, CNN would say POTUS assaulted Obama.

Without the US military (Mattis) undercutting Israel, they’ll wipe out Iranians in Syria.

In fairness, no one really wants to deal with what is needed in the middle east excep, the Objectivists and the very nasty Debbie Schlussel. They are the only ones willing to face the truth. Except for Israel and a few other places, the Middle East should be a bunch of uranium dumps, as Objectivist Peter Schwartz said.

Not sure what you mean but if the gist is that the Israelis will wipe out the Iranians, just remember that Iran was willing to clear mine fields with kids on motor bikes ...

20,000-30,000 ISIS

Not sure where you're pulling those numbers, but there's just 2,000 hard core ISIS hunkered down in a tiny corner of south eastern Syria.

They could be vaporized at the drop of a hat using stealth bombers flying out of Qatar.

If we could level Dresden, some mud huts in the desert should be a cake walk.

I agree. The only reason Obama was supporting the “rebels” was because they were Islamist and Assad, while very harsh and a nationalist and anti-US, was not an Islamist. But he could have been pressured or reasoned with to develop on our side, and we never took advantage of this.

They’re all bastards, and as Harry Truman said, “he’s our bastard,” or at least he could have been.

And as for what Assad did to his Islamist enemies, cry me a river.

Would be odd if CNN was in for going along with what Trumps decided to do - even if it matches some of their exact wishes.....

And Iran still failed to take over Iraq.

Let’s see Iran is governed by the majority Shiia, Iraq is governed by the majority Shiia; Iran and Iraq have a mutual defense treaty I think; Iran has surrogate and Al-Qods troops in Iraq.

I guess that means Iran failed abjectly to take over Iraq - I see your point.
