If someone believes in global warming, then you can be sure he is a globalist who loathes Western civilization.

Oh, good gawd.

Mattis is another deep state globalist, and a self proclaimed "demokkkrat."
(I believe this is the generally apporoved FR spelling.)

A little bit in the weeds on the F-25, but yes, a very good article. I have always been a little uneasy with Mattis. The globull warming thing is always a sign of unbalance. The whole slow-walk of getting rid of the transvestites in the military was quite troubling.

But I have to be honest. Much of Trump’s big problems have been self-inflicted. For whatever reason, Trump has continually made a series of head scratching, flat-out, BAD hires.

He served his purpose, time to move on...

Did you know:

Obama lost in first two years:
Chief of Staff
Commerce Secretary
Secretary of Defense
OMB director
Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers
National Security Adviser

And don’t forget that HHS-designate Tom Daschle couldn’t even make it past the Senate

That's stupid.

Most of them are below average or average-IQ white people who advanced way beyond their abilities in "education", and their common feature is not hatred of Western civilization but the fact that they "believe in science".

Not that they "understand what science is" or "value the method" - they think the fact that they "believe in it" means they are smart, when, of course, it means the opposite.

I have thought that General Mattis was not a Trump Supporter for some time. However, I wonder if this pull back from Syria and Afghanistan is not a response for Saudi Arabia’s recent actions. By their murder of Jamal Khashoggi, the Saudi’s proved again what their true nature is. We have been guaranteeing their security for decades without them paying for it with the idea of keeping a stable oil supply. President Trump stated that their would be consequences for their actions, and he is withdrawing his military support for them. Also, in Afghanistan, it has been a money pit that we have financially supported since 2001. If you read Trump’s statements, it is obvious to me that he no longer views us as the ‘policeman’ for the world, if we are not compensated for it. I think it is strickly business. The downside is that the only country worth supporting in the area is Israel, but they are capable of protecting their own interest. In the end, they will be alone militarily, but again, they have prepared for that possibility. I sure as hell don’t believe that this is a sign of cowardice, as was the case of Obama, but in preservation of our assets and making others pay for their own interest. Just my opinion, but there is more going on than meets the eye. President Trump is reshuffling the deck and a major change is happening. I don’t know what direction he will take us, but ‘status quo’ has never been Trump’s MO...

Mattis was Secretary of Defense for nearly two years - that's a lot longer than most last in that post, it's longer than Obama's last three Defense Secretaries. If Mattis opposes Trump's pullout from Syria, he should leave. Trump has always made it plain that he opposes US boots on the ground in countries we have no business being in, and it's never been clear to me why we are in Syria trying to help Al-Qaeda overthrow Assad.

Trump to Mattis:

Feeling better now that we’re through
Feeling better, ‘cause I’m over you
I’ve learned my lesson, it left a scar
And now I see how you really are

I know Army officers and Marine Officers who worked directly for the man. They have no greater praise for any other person.

Politics aside, he is a patriot. And a decent man. And a legendary leader.

If someone believes in global warming, then you can be sure he is a globalist who loathes Western civilization.

Environmentalists fear and hate industrial civilization and economic progress. They also believe in the intrinsic value of nature which leads to the cultural devaluation of man.

Let’s face it, most of the military brass, and much of the rank and file have been brought to heel by Political Correctness. If you buck the PC system, you won’t get promoted and may end up being put out altogether. So, it’s not just Mattis, but he’s the visible tip of the iceberg.

A remember a couple of months ago, Trump called Mattis a “sort of a Democrat.”

As career military, General Mattis was a product of his environment...while he had many great attributes I’m not sure he had full respect and appreciation for his civilian boss.

‘Kind of a Democrat’ seems to be an apt description.

Mattix is an administrator. He may view his role as maintaining stability and continuity in uncertain and changing times. He may be prioritizing and concentrating on what he views as most important, or trying to mediate between the president and the military establishment that the White House has to work with.

If Mattix is deliberately undercutting the president, he has to go - and he is going - but if he were a yes-man or a clone of the president, that might not have been for the better. An inexperienced president does need somebody who can push back sometimes.

Tillerson won't be taking much of his time leading the Boy Scouts of America from now on; he allowed gay troop leaders, and now the venerable institution is considering bankruptcy in response to gay rape claims.

Not sure what that has to do with Mattix, but those rape charges (and the decline in BSA membership) go back to before Tillerson and the changes in policy. The implication the writer's making here suggests he may not be the most reliable analyst.

Anyone know good blogs about military troops? I’d like to know how our troops feel about Mattis leaving. I read last night that they were upset. Just wondering.
