She refused to embrace the trump positions or have trump campaign for her so even though the gop governor on the same ballot won easily the trump supporters didn’t vote for her and the dems come out for the socialist opponent.

She is a McCain worshipper. That’s all you need to know.

“Well she holds the #1 qualification to hold elective office in 2019: a vagina.”

Yep. Penises have been going limp for a while.

Well I am an outsider (Colorado) so was hoping for some local insights.

From what I have gathered, she is somewhat conservative as she is pro-life and pro-gun. I am less comfortable with her stated position of repealing Obamacare but keeping some portions of the law. Her support for a legal requirement to hire women and minorities is also a bit of an alarm for me.

So she seems to be a bit of a mixed bag but that may be due to my limited exposure to her.

You are right, she is more liberal than McCain. And a proven loser. How is she gonna hold onto this seat in 2020? There must be more qualified conservatives in the state of AZ.

McSally is just holding the door open for the Democrats to take this seat in 2020.

You know it was a pretty Democratic year, right? I doubt she'd have lost in 2010 or 2014.

McSally lost by 2 points while Ducey won by 14. I'd call that underperforming.

You’re correct, she’s not a solid conservative. She distanced herself from Trump and she will not support the wall. Much like Mccain, the only thing that makes it possible to put an R beside her name is her conservative stand on the military. She’s moved farther left since she got into office and will keep migrating left.

I know Senator Martha McSally reasonably well and worked on all her election campaigns. She was our Concessional Representative in AZ CD 2, and performed superbly. AZ CD 2 was Gabby Giffords old district, and now has reverted to the other side since Martha McSally did not run again. It is extremely difficult for any republican to win in AZ CD 2. Just check the record.

She shall be an excellent Senator. Before I am flamed, please show some Christmas spirit and give her a chance.

What it also does is preserve Jonathan Lines as the Party Chair. I love Jonathan. He is a good man and he is always been good to me. But he did a poor job last election and it’s time for new blood. I say that with sadness because I had such high hopes for him.

Thanks for your personal insight. That cuts her more slack than anything else I have heard in a year.

Do you think he wants higher office in the future?
