More seriously, I’d guess that due to this one being fairly active, not too many people hang around closely.
In the youtube video angle, I climbed the “Ventorillo” route on the right side of the image that has the outcropping of another old vent. I descended on the left side edge of the image which was the normal route.
It could be a little disconcerting, at best, to have it erupt if one were nearby. :^) The farmer who had Paricutin just appear one day didn’t expect that to happen right in his backyard when he got up that morning. Before he left for good, he put up a sign saying “this volcano operated by” his name. 20 sq miles got buried, including two towns. The church of Paricutin sticks up out of the old lava floes, and people still go there (not for services, for visits). Considering what happened, and the number of years exposed to the elements, it’s not in all that bad a shape.
