Give him a medal and a salute.
I see a major problem with it. He told someone.
That is the problem with turning war into a law enforcement action. He met the threshold for killing the man. He is a commissioned officer, not needing further corroboration. Case closed.
Troops going into battle followed by lawyers.
Yep.
Why did he tell?
S s s
S...S...S
Then live happily ever after.
I am livid, I would make this braggart stand in the corner of my Diversity Tolerance class wearing a dunce cap and holding his tongue between his thumb and index finger for the entire duration of the class.
SF must always be vigilant when dealing with the agency. Any of you old timers remember when the the 5th SFG whacked a North Vietnamese double agent. Excellent account in the book “A Murder in Wartime”. The agency set the Group guys up. Three good men went on trail for that incident until President Nixon personally stopped the Courts Martial.
Promote him to major genera1.
...don’t brag on Fox news....
No different than sending a drone to zap him.
And saved the cost of the drone.
Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to not deceive.
He more or less HAD to tell the CIA. The rest of it? Shoulda kept his mouth shut.
I don’t know why this guy told the CIA that he had done this, or why he admitted it on Fox News. His issue, of course, is with the insane Rules of Engagement that Barack Obama and his chief Iranian in Charge, Valerie Jarret imposed on soldiers who were trying to wage war against the vile enemies of our country. I don’t think that he can ever be convicted except by his own testimony. Why is he doing this?
The news have reported that he has been awarded a Silver Star for valor in action. But, this original award has been upgraded to a Distinguished Service Cross, the second highest valor award in the nation. This guy is beyond a hero, he is a walking legend.
I’m guessing that he knew the soldiers (mostly Marines that he supported) were going to be killed by this dirtbag and in spite of the clueless bureaucrats who implemented these insane Rules of Engagement, he was going to protect his soldiers and take this guy out. He did it by himself because he knew that he was violating the immoral rules of engagement and owed it to his soldiers to do what was right.
This guy is off the scale of moral courage and will stand as example above and beyond the worthless bureaucrats and politicians who sleep well in their comfortable beds while real men like these protect their country.
He will probably found guilty in a Court Martial, he is guilty under the UCMJ, but I hope that the President pardons him immediately and personally presents the Distinguished Service Cross that he so well deserves.
He told the CIA to boost his creds. He should have remained silent to see if the interviewers were smart enough to figure it out.
If youre at war, than rules of war apply. To hell with so-called rules of engagement. In war a soldiers duty is to kill the enemy.
