Thousands of brides are being burned alive in India despite the practice being illegal, a Christian ministry has warned.
India Partners, a Christian organization that works alonside indigenous Christian grassroots agencies in India, told Mission Network News on Thursday that there are still as many as 8,000 bride burning cases a year in the Hindu-majority country.
A representative with India Partners, identified only as John, said the low view of women is spread through parts of India's society.
“This is true both of men and women. It’s not just of men itself. Most women see the other woman as in an inferior position and not able to recognize her rights as a human being," he said.
The burning attacks, some of which have resulted in deaths, are tied to dowry and marriage disputes in rural districts.
Women in India continue to suffer from a widespread rape epidemic, with many stories of extreme violence, sexual assaults, and murder making international news.
Dalits, members of the so-called "untouchables" lowest caste class in India, are also subject to discrimination, especially those who choose to convert to Christianity.

By assuming the position, it indicates an openness to that demon.

Yogis will tell you that you cannot separate the physical from the spiritual aspect.

I assume your post is /s but there are Christians who believe because of the link between Yoga and Hinduism, that there is a tie with that evil society.
I’ve read the arguments against Yoga by Christians, and there are interesting some points, but not sure they are valid. But, many of the poses/exercises are in homage to specific Hindu gods. And there is emptying of the mind of thoughts rathe than renewing the mind.
Decades ago I did practice yoga for a couple of years, but didn’t like how it left my mind. But, I’m not an expert, my personal opinion is no to Yoga.
The subject matter of the women in India being burned alive is so bad that I cannot even make comment upon it. I have been aware of the practice of Suttee for many years; I stand helpless before such evil. Only God can change the hearts and minds of persons enslaved in such darkness.
Satan laughs and enjoys such evil; he also makes the Indian people revere such animals as cattle and rats as gods, thereby insuring constant and unremitting famines due to people being unable to butcher cattle for food and vermin for their consumption and despoiling of foodstuffs and grain.

But IIRC there’s something interesting that may have come out of use of the program Starry Night relative to a strong candidate for what was the Star of Bethlehem. As I recall from the presentation the date, by our current calendar, on which what might have been the star “stopped” over Bethlehem (Jupiter reaching the point at which it entered retrograde) as one left Jerusalem would have been on the day in question. Again, months after the sign first appeared and when the family was already living in a house.

It is true. On Hindu religious websites they explain the morning Sun worship and prayers - and it’s exactly the yoga poses.
I wasn’t looking because of animosity toward yoga, but I was I in fact was looking for info on Hindu puja since I know Indian Doctors and coworkers.
