[8k/yr] of women burned alive in India, not recognized as humans: Ministry warns

Thousands of brides are being burned alive in India despite the practice being illegal, a Christian ministry has warned.

India Partners, a Christian organization that works alonside indigenous Christian grassroots agencies in India, told Mission Network News on Thursday that there are still as many as 8,000 bride burning cases a year in the Hindu-majority country.

A representative with India Partners, identified only as John, said the low view of women is spread through parts of India's society.

“This is true both of men and women. It’s not just of men itself. Most women see the other woman as in an inferior position and not able to recognize her rights as a human being," he said.

The burning attacks, some of which have resulted in deaths, are tied to dowry and marriage disputes in rural districts.

Women in India continue to suffer from a widespread rape epidemic, with many stories of extreme violence, sexual assaults, and murder making international news.

Dalits, members of the so-called "untouchables" lowest caste class in India, are also subject to discrimination, especially those who choose to convert to Christianity.

A very experienced Christian faith healer I know of testifies that there is a lot of demonic influence from yoga. Has successfully interceded for the LORD to heal many such people, and says that even just taking the postures, without invoking anything spiritual, can attract an evil influence. (Please note this is not possession nor does the person necessarily intend pagan worship, but evil influence can affect the person.) Yes, I was very surprised!

Something you’ll NEVER see on the MSM.

Probably because it is so minute as to not even be worthy of a news story. If 99.9% of the brides in India weren't being burned the burned ones would be 1.3 million. A crime happening in the thousands is about equivalent to the number of women dying by being hit by flower pots falling out of apartment windows and killing them on the sidewalk.

It's true every life is precious and even one taken is one too many, but using a sensationalist headline to slam an entire country is pretty lame.

The burnings are generally not being performed by white, Christian males so they don’t care.

I think Jesus was probably born on Oct 31st. What better way to desecrate the day. Celebrate death instead of life. I hate holloween. I hate santa and the easter bunny. Paganism.

No, it shows that our ideological opponents have no sense of consistency or perspective.

"Like Paul Harvey used to say - It’s not one world."

It was so notably noted during Bush I and Bush II (1st term).

Years ago I heard one definition of yoga as meaning “oneness with god.” In India, you may be pretty certain it’s not oneness with “The One and True God,” but the Deceiver. Don’t play with fire.

See definitions 1 and 3 below from the very secular dictionary.com

From: https://www.dictionary.com/browse/yoga

yoga
[yoh-guh]
ExamplesWord Origin
noun (sometimes initial capital letter)

1. a school of Hindu philosophy advocating and prescribing a course of physical and mental disciplines for attaining liberation from the material world and union of the self with the Supreme Being or ultimate principle.

2. any of the methods or disciplines prescribed, especially a series of postures and breathing exercises practiced to achieve control of the body and mind, tranquillity, etc.

3. union of the self with the Supreme Being or ultimate principle.

.
Yeshua was born Sept 28, 3 BC if you’re using the Roman Calendar.

December 25 has been known as the birth date of the Sungod for at least 4000 years.

“Yeshua was not born on December 25!”
__________________________________________

What about his birth being in April, 2 days after Passover?

It’s a long trip from Nazareth; they’d have to go via a caravan for safety and it would be a major undertaking.

They’d probably go to Jerusalem for Passover and then head down to Bethlehem to pay taxes and register for the Census.

The shepherds were in the fields with their flocks which would be in the Spring. In the December timeframe the flocks would have been in their pens heating hay.

Just a thought........

I am aware that December 25th is not the birthday of the Creator’s only begotten Son. Nor do I weep for Tammuz.

Read your Bible!

Yeshua was born on Succot (Tabernacles) that is what the day means.

Passover is when he was crucified.

That makes sense! It’s always fun to think about, but not crucial. :)
