Robert Mueller Is No Match for Fox News
NY Times ^ | Quinta Jurecic

Posted on 12/01/2018 4:19:29 PM PST by conservative98

The allure of a Mueller report lies in its imagined promise of a single, definitive truth capable of cutting through the haze of lies, confusion and “alternative facts.” But Mr. Corsi’s and Mr. Papadopoulos’s antics are a warning that this hope will inevitably fall short. Conspiracy theorists and prosecutors live in different worlds: The first, unmoored from truth; the second, devoted to proving facts beyond a reasonable doubt. Mr. Mueller has the power to charge Mr. Corsi for lying; he has already done so to Mr. Papadopoulos. Rather than crumbling, though, their falsehoods have continued to spread and grow — and they’ve taken root in the media ecosystem in which the president chooses to spend his days (Fox News).

By now it’s clear that the special counsel is not armed with a silver bullet, not because the facts are not bad for the president but precisely because they are. If facts were enough, Mr. Trump would already have been impeached.

That’s why he nabbed people around Trump on fake crimes. He hasn’t been able to find real crimes to investigate and prosecute.

“January 2019 should be the big deep state reveal”

There’s no one to report on it[save a few on the right] and no controlling legal authority[that’s not corrupt and loyal to the left] to do anything about it.

That’s the nub of the problem.

"For all the MSM talking about Mueller having Trump cold, no one can spell out what he has that is so damning."

They've been investigating Trump for almost 2 years now. It's not what they have, it's how much they have and how damaging it is. The house is a lock to impeach. Will mueller give the senate enough of a legal fig leaf to remove is the big question.

We're way past go time anyways.

That’s exactly my read. The sent Misfud to Papadopoulis to plant the idea that Russia has “dirt” on Hillary and had given it to Trump. Then they sent the Aussie Ambassador, who had no business meeting with PapaD, to try solicit that planted info back from him and report it to the intelligence services. This became the pretext for the warrants which allowed them to spy not only on PapaD but on everyone he communicated with and everyone those people communicated with! For his part PapaD says he never said a word of this “dirt” to the Aussie and it is ridiculous to think that even if such “dirt” existed that PapaD would have first hand knowledge of it.

They also arranged to give PapaD $10,000 in cash, which imo they had hoped he would bring into the USA which they would then charge him for undeclared cash in excess of legal amounts and that would have of course created an appearance that he was up to something since he was not a man of such resources. He was indeed arrested on his arrival at JFK but fortunately for him he left that cash in the hands of his European attorneys as evidence.

The did the same with Page, but have no case against Page in part because he had been a long time FBI asset.

Worse of all is they did it to Don Jr. Note that they used the same word “dirt”. That Russian lawyer met with FusionGPS people immediately before and after the Trump Tower meeting. No info was traded, solicited, or offered. What is most troubling about this one is the potential for blackmailing the President by entrapping his son. “Mr. Trump do as we say or we will prosecute your son”. That this possibility has escaped, to my knowledge, all commentary both left and right, is very troubling.

Good point. Another example of them playing the victim when they are the perpetrators.

Another one writing to preen themselves in front to their peers. That’s all that is... parading and preening... like so many before them and so many after.

It’s not about the story it’s about the writing of the story, the story behind the story. It’s about posturing, about showing one’s bona fides, one’s creds, one’s willingness to do or say whatever for the cause.

And the reward? Because we’re not liberals we don’t know how touched they are, how ebullient and ecstatic they are among their friends, their coffee culture peers, that they are living a life only seen on TV. Yes, they are living a life TV shows are written about.

>>> Organization’s efforts to establish a Trump Tower Moscow were quite involved and continued into June 2016 <<<

LIAR -Cohen could not even get approval for building permits.

Why is it ever liberal claims incriminating evidence against Trump except the guy (Mueller) who has actually been investigating him for 2 years with rogue FBI agents, illegal wiretaps, campaign infiltrators and a team of Trump hating lawyers?

That you (and we) know all these names is the fatal flaw in their scheme. The conspiracy was too wide and deep and targeted too many people to expect that it could remain a secret.

Recall that immediately after the election a group of nearly 20 top FBI and related people all went off-site to conduct a meeting, ostensibly to get their stories straight and begin to mop-up and cover-up their crimes. 20 people! How anyone would expect a conspiracy of such magnitude to remain a secret is mind boggling.

Of course had HRC won the election, they could have managed most of this through coverup and obstruction - they would have no problem issuing orders to not investigate this or that, maybe let one or two patsies take the fall for something minor. But Trump merely saying to Comey “Flynn is a good guy is it possible you might lay off him” (e.g. not a direct order) is obstruction in their eyes. The double standards, the lack of principle, the deception, criminality is astonishing.

These people have no principles at all other than do what it takes to win. In the last 2 years we have seen evidence of that time and again, from Mueller to Kavanaugh, from the unmasking to the exoneration of HRC and the bushwacking of Lynch by Bill Clinton on an Arizona tarmac, to the Susan Rice email attempting to shield Obama... it is endless.

They also threatened Flynn by threatening his son. I think the libs and never Trumpers know that they can get Trump by attacking his family. They've picked off some of his friends the same way. As for Don Jr, I don't think he has anything to worry about the Trump Tower meeting. And he is smart so probably keeps up on the major threats. But Mueller would love to get him on lying to Congress and NPR is all to eager to help out: /focus/f-news/3709740/posts

We have to have faith in Trump and his legal team and to some extent the Congress. The deep state can't be dislodged, but can be trimmed back with reforms. Americans must have 4th amendment rights especially in opposition political parties and really only Congress can make that happen.

“The conspiracy was too wide and deep and targeted too many people to expect that it could remain a secret.”

The puzzle is not complete yet. We need more people and more connections drawn before we can make heads or tails of what was going on with the Obama treason regime. More flowcharts, chalk lines, and strings to bring it all together. /s

We’ve known for years now that it’s a massive conspiracy of high treason. Multiple coup attempts—an ongoing coup. Complete lawlessness.

What we don’t have is a controlling legal authority to do anything about it.

When it comes to affirming our 4th Amendment rights it really comes to the courts. Congress can enact law but each of us will rely on the judicial system to affirm those rights in practice. I am hopeful that we are in process of a great reformation of the court system through the many Trump judicial appointments.

What we don’t have is a controlling legal authority to do anything about it.

Maybe we do or maybe we don't. If you follow the Q-Anon people, which I follow but don't completely believe, Huber is on the case with a team of over 450 prosecutors and 50,000 sealed indictments.

Assuming that Huber is not really in control, then such controlling legal authority resides in the DOJ and potentially in the office of POTUS. Either one can appoint a special prosecutor to investigate all of this malfeasance. I have often on these threads called for exactly that - a new prosecutor to conduct basically the same investigation that Mueller is conducting but directed at all other non-Trump related actors, as the Mueller mandate should have directed.

Of course, Mueller should not have been appointed. We do not expect the FBI to investigate the FBI, or DOJ to prosecute the DOJ. This is the purpose of the Special Prosecutor law. And as the 12 year head of FBI he is too conflicted on the surface (let alone whatever his unethical motives may be) to bring justice.

So we'll see if or how it shakes out. I for one cannot see Trump letting it slide much longer. Whatever reason he has delayed, be it Sessions' inadequacies or political calculation, Trump has made the decision to take all the hits and only let a small portion of the media fight back for him. Justice must be served, and I believe he knows it is a legal, ethical, moral and political imperative that justice be done. So I wait. And watch. And gripe on threads like these.

Mueller doesn't have enough to impeach Trump and knows it. If he did, the Democrats would have already tried it.

“Maybe we do or maybe we don’t. “

No, we don’t. That’s the problem. Trump has to appoint a special counsel himself or convene military tribunals. The few solutions he has left.

For those who did not have the patience or the political tolerance to read all the way to the last sentence, here it is...

“If facts were enough, Mr. Trump would already have been impeached.”
