I understand that there are some possible medicinal factors to pot that should be studied & used.

I just don’t understand why everyone is so quick to want everyone else to get and be high. Sure, being intoxicated can be fun, but seriously - all the time?

I wonder if Nancy Pelosi would give to Trump the opportunity to sign legislation that decriminalizes marijuana at the federal level. I doubt if she would. In her eyes anything that would make Trump look good is bad.

no, it’s as simple as this: people who want to smoke pot need to stop siphoning off enough votes from the republican so that a LIBERAL gets sent to congress.

Sounds good until you look at the fact that govt is not pushing legalization, but dragging their feet. 9 of 10 states that legalised did so by ballot, as did most medical mj programs. Prohibition is the favored policy of politicians and govt bureacrats.

Pot is going to be a liability for the GOP if they don’t pass legislation permitting it. In Michigan for example they had pot legalization on the ballot and it drove up Dem turn out. If the legislature had approved it first the ballot measure would have been irrelevant.

I’ll just stick to a good single malt Scotch, it’s already legal and I have enough sense not to try to drive when I have imbibed.
Most pot smokers I have known seem to think it’s perfectly OK to get high then drive to get munchies, or get loaded while driving.

Using marijuana is not a "privilege" but a right, since it in and of itself violates no rights. And it's immoral to punish all marijuana users for the irresponsibility of some.

People who smoke pot do not deserve to be in jail or prison, because they are not criminals.

You would be surprised at the real facts. Nobody is sitting in prison because they were caught with pot or smoking it.

The only ones in prison are the major traffickers, those who were charged with other crimes in addition to having pot in their possession, parolees busted for crimes with pot in their possession and tons of other associated crimes..........

Let me repeat myself: NOBODY IS IN PRISON OR JAIL FOR MERE POT POSSESSION ...........

And for the record, here in Michigan where marijuana was just legalized, it wasn't in state groups who gathered together to promote the passage of the bill but rather mega out state lobbyists who are representing groups who stand to make a fortune over its legalization and sale...........

In fact, https://www.realclearpolitics.com/elections/live_results/2018/house/ shows exactly 2 House races where the Rat won by less than the third-party total (Iowa 3 and NJ 3). In NJ the 'spoiler' was a Constitution Party candidate, whose views on marijuana I couldn't discover. In Iowa, the Rat would have lost IF all Libertarian votes went to the Pub AND no other third-party votes went Rat.

Well, we have some serious drug issues out there like fentanyl and pill mills but still 60% of our enforcement results are targeting pot. The differences now between the states are only exacerbating the widening net to ensnare folks, mainly our young.

I know the drug companies that dispense mood elevators like candy don't want legalization. Law enforcement and lawyers don't. So, on we go.
