Thousands of senate undervotes discovered in crucial Florida county

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — As the race for U.S. Senate, governor and agriculture commissioner appear to be headed to recounts, a strange anomaly has surfaced.

In Broward county, Senate undervotes appear on nearly 4 percent of all ballots. That’s ballots where a vote was not counted for U.S. Senate, despite votes being cast in other races.

What makes the anomaly even stranger, is that it appeared in a county that Democratic incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum desperately needed to score well in. A WESH 2 News analysis of votes cast in various races, shows 701,469 votes were cast in the governor’s race in Broward.

Yet, just 676,706 votes were cast in the Senate race. This discrepancy appears despite the fact that the Senate race was at the top of the ballot. It means 24,763 more votes were cast for governor than for Senate.

There was also a green party candidate in the governor’s race and no third parties in the senate. Very convenient of the newspaper to leave that information out.

An undervote is not necessarily a blemished or invalidated vote. “NOTA” is not included as an alternative to the choice offered, which may not be acceptable at all to the specific voter, so that selection was deliberately not made.

“Saw a video on Twitter today showing horrible ballot chain of custody procedures. People from various precincts driving in personally owned vehicles, with only one person in the car delivering ballots to a rental truck.

It was supposedly in Broward County.”

One would think lessons about vote integrity would’ve been leaned 18 years ago.

One would think.

Vote as often as needed. Rinse, lather and repeat.

Sessions is gone so maybe something will be done.

Sounds like the Democrat crooks forgot to put a check mark beside the white guy when they were forging votes for the black guy.

The Democrat counters will correct their err in the recount!.

I rarely vote for Senator, skipping over Susan Collins and chosing not to vote. Used to NOT vote for Olympia Snowe as well. I could understand a similar mindset for a do nothing Nelson in Florida.

Lots of people don’t vote for a certain candidate.

I refused vote to for the only Democrat for county treasurer listed on the ballot.

Undervotes are perfectly legitimate. You don’t have to vote for a candidate at all.

Sometimes people simply choose not to vote for a particular office. I always blank candidates who run unopposed. Others may have reasons in contested cases. Ballots need to have an option to affirmatively select No Candidate, aka none of the above.

I have to say, I really didn’t think they were going to try to run this scam again 18 years after getting shot down before. It will escape nobody’s notice that its Greater Miami and particularly Broward County.......again.

As the last SCOTUS case established, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. That is if Broward’s ballots get this extra level of scrutiny then the same standard must be applied to all 67 of Florida’s counties most of which are not friendly territory for Democrats. How many more ballots can be “discovered” in those counties?

Absolutely nobody is going to be fooled by this. Man, are they desperate to even try something like this. Gollum lost. Nelson Lost. This isn’t going to work.

In the entire state, there were 35,155 senate undervotes. That means there were 24,763 Senate undervotes in Broward County and just 10,392 Senate undervotes in Florida’s 66 other counties.

Might be fraud by Gillum's supporters. So stupid that they didn't mark any votes for the other races on the phony ballots. But smart emough that they might well get away with it.

Aren’t legitimate voters constitutional rights impacted by a federal election fraud? Why can’t the DOJ investigate this obvious vote tampering? We do have an AG as of yesterday.

"discovered" ???

Déjà vu of the Bush 43 / Gore election.

Why does the chain of voting ballot custody keep getting broken in Florida, especially in national elections?

Sessions is gone so maybe something will be done.

Nothing has ever been done about it.
Nothing will be done about it this time.
Nothing will ever be done about it...so long as it is left in the hands of the government.

Take that statement to mean whatever you want it to mean.
