Some 40 percent of black likely voters approve of the job President Donald Trump is doing, according to the daily Rasmussen poll released on Oct. 29.
The number marks a record high, the pollster noted, and shows a rapid rise in support for the president among black voters, compared to Rasmussens own results from a year ago.
The poll showed 29 percent support for Trump among blacks on Aug. 6, compared with 15 percent on Aug. 3, 2017.
Reuters/Ipsos polls also have revealed an increase, though more modest, to 16.5 percent approval among blacks in an Oct. 1822 survey, from 11 percent at the end of August.
Among all likely voters, Rasmussen has been tracking Trump job approval at around the 50 percent mark throughout October, compared to the 40 to 47 percent range being reported by other pollsters.

Do I smell toast?
No, the people who say they now may favor Trump are still Democrats accustomed to voting straight Democrat tickets.
This is the end of the Democrat Plantation.
All the dems have left is the wacko LGBT crowd and the muzzies.
Some 40 percent of black likely voters approve of the job President Donald Trump is doing and are trying to escape the liberal plantation, according to the daily Rasmussen poll released on Oct. 29.
Minor detail left out...
Among black guys I know, 2 out of 5 like him.
Black women...forget about it.
I would have always pegged black men as the hardest to convert.
Turns out the women are.
Yes, the certain blue wave is pure propaganda from the Dem. Party’s media. They don’t know anyone who supports Trump, of course. As we get closer to the election they will have to tell the truth so they don’t come out looking bad like they did in the 2016 election.
I could maybe buy 35% of Black MALE likely voters.
Democrat slayer!
Rats can afford to lose only 10% of the black vote. More - theyre finished.
Can you say theres no Blue Wave?
I hope Rasmussen is right about this. If so, that would be a lot of registered Democrats voting Republican......which by itself would sink the Democrats. Their whole electoral machine is built on trying to keep ethnic and other minorities on their plantation.
Here is a sad thought. 2024.
But will they vote for President Trump and Republicans?
The segment of the black population that doesn’t necessarily hate America and or don’t care for the ilegal invasion?
If African Americans are slightly turning away from Dems then why are so many polls showing a Dem takeover of House coming next week? God Forbid.
Maybe bitter women who hate Trump (all races of women) balancing out the racial component and overall showing loss of House? Perennial House districts for people such as Maxine, the old John Conyers seat and others in all urban regions stay Dem year after year. Other areas are supposedly up for grabs.
Great news!!!!
This does not bode well for the “Blue Wave”.
Sabotaged by “Blexit”. And once they walk away, there is just not that much luring them back.
Ever.
2016 showed that polls are almost worthless (or at least the public or news media polls).
Maybe the private polls done by the candidate are more accurate but the bottom line is I know longer believe polls for the simple reason too many of them begin with a bias and use polls to support the bias.
Trump is an unabashed American who clearly treats all people equally. The narrative that he is a racist simply doesn’t fly. People are un-brainwashing themselves.
Kanye West is a big part of that perception.
Americans think of themselves as free, and want to be free, and want to express their freedom. Supporting Trump is a great way to do that.
The women in my family are all in for Trump.
But yes I do see worrisome signs among the “independent” women I know and black women haven’t changed at all, again among the ones I know.
They are full of worthless indignation against imaginary events.
“But will they vote for President Trump and Republicans?”
Million dollar question. Back in the mid 80’s, I wrote a paper for a Pol Sci class about political realignment in the South.
At the time, Southerners were starting to realize that it was OK to vote for a Republican for President or maybe Governor or Senate - but on the rest of the ballot, they voted Democrat. It was taken a number of election cycles to come true - but many white Southerners now vote GOP from to bottom.
I’m not sure we’ll see much movement of blacks to the GOP in this election cycle. We’ll have to look at 2020 and see if their support for Trump shows in the voting booth and then 2022 to see if there is slow increase for GOP candidates in the below ballot races.
