My gut feeling is Menendez survives. Shame, but that's what I see.

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) clings to a slight lead over New Jersey Republican Bob Hugin in the week leading up to the contentious New Jersey Senate race, according to a poll released on Monday.
The incumbent New Jersey Democrat holds a slight four-point lead over Hugin in the final weeks of the Senate race — 47 to 42 percent—with seven percent of voters remaining undecided and a four-point margin of error, according to an Emerson College survey released on Monday. The five-point gap in the Senate race makes the election a tight race in deep-blue New Jersey.
A majority of New Jerseyans, or 53 percent, have a negative view of Democrat Menendez, while only 34 percent of voters have a favorable view of the New Jersey Democrat.
In contrast to Menendez, Hugin has a net-positive favorability rating, with 40 percent of New Jreseyans who have a positive view of the New Jersey Republican, and 33 percent of voters who have a negative perception of the New Jersey challenger.
The New Jersey race continues to become more competitive as the Cook Political Report moved the election to a “toss up” last week and national Democrats shifted millions of dollars to the Garden State to save Menendez in deep-blue New Jersey.
The Cook report found that Menendez’s biggest threat does not come from Hugin but rather from New Jersey voters who want to rebuke Menendez amidst all of his public corruption charges and corroborating evidence from the Department of Justice that found that Menendez had sex with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic.

NJ people seem incapable of detecting embarrassments.
That is from the Star-Ledger website (nj.com); it has been anti-Trump forever, and whistled past the graveyard while this state degenerates into a Third-World sh!thole. They’ll turn every story into an attack on Trump and the Republicans.
Menendez may survive because so many normals, and many of our wealthy residents, are fleeing. Christie pointed this out in his later years; he had tried unsuccessfully to stop the flight of wealth from NJ.

It was no surprise; after the bank bailouts of 2007-2008, both the mayor of NYC and governor of NY state were openly begging the federal government to allow the financial institutions to pay bonuses to execs - WITH TAXPAYER BAILOUT MONEY - because both the state and city (which also has an income tax) needed their “cuts”.
It is hard to believe we elected a pro-life, anti-tax governor like Christie twice - but with a Dem legislature he couldn’t do much. The problem now is many “NJ people” are gone - and they’ve been replaced with trafficked Third Worlders sustained by public assistance (much of it federal).
We've seen this scenario in NJ too many times to think otherwise, like the Lautenberg for Toricelli switcheroo.
Still, I believe them.

I think it would take a huge change for FL to match NJ in its anti-business attitudes. I don’t know if the FL governor can impact property taxes much, and the state has no income tax.

If you study the favorability ratings of both candidates, many voters who at the same time like Hugin and despise Menendez will be pulling the lever for Menendez. Party loyalty runs deep, doesn’t it?
